💊 Engineers at UCLA have created a minimalistic health-tracking device. It collects sweat from your fingertips and passes it through sensors.

The gadget continuously tracks how much glucose and vitamins are in the body with an accuracy close to giving blood. Perhaps in the future, scientists will add automatic administration of medications: for example, insulin for diabetics in case of high sugar.

Bloomberg: Apple's presentation will be held a day early because of a huge fine from the EU

Apple usually holds its presentations on Tuesdays, exceptions are rare. Shortly before the September presentation, various insiders claimed that the event would take place exactly on Tuesday, September 10, but Apple decided to hold the event a day earlier.

Analyst Mark Gurman said that the reason for this decision lies in the record fine of $ 14 billion, which the supreme court of the European Union may impose on Apple as early as September 10 in the case of tax evasion. So that this event would not overshadow the announcement of the iPhone 16 and other new products, Apple decided to hold the event on September 9.

Toyota has set a Guinness record - the new Prius LE has a fuel consumption of 2.5 litres per 100 km. This is the lowest figure among other cars. For one full tank the car travelled 1700 km. The result surprised even Toyota, they called the indicator ‘atypical’.

The car was travelling from Los Angeles and stopped at City Hall in New York. The length of the trip was 5169 kilometres. In doing so, the car drove through the desert and climbed mountains to an altitude of 2,100 metres.

The driver shared a trick that will help reduce fuel consumption - it is important to maintain the inertia of the car. You need to start slowly, press the pedal gently while driving and release it in advance if you need to slow down. This reduces the load on the engine and fuel consumption.

Meanwhile, new work by scientists from the United States shows that there may be a universal mechanism for triggering tumour growth. It turned out that the key role in this process is played by a single molecule that reprogrammes immune cells - instead of protecting them from cancer, they start helping tumour cells.
