🥇 New technology cuts the cost of lithium extraction by more than half

Stanford University researchers have developed a new method for extracting lithium from salt water that is a more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional technologies. The redox coupled electrodialysis (RCE) method extracts lithium with high selectivity and less resources - electricity, water and chemicals.

This approach reduces the cost of lithium extraction to $3500-4400 per tonne, compared to $9100 per tonne with the traditional method, and can be applied to a variety of salt water sources.

🔍 In California, a woman tracked down the thieves of her parcels using AirTag. In the US, it is quite popular for delivery boxes to go missing, as couriers leave them at the door, not always waiting for the owners.

An American woman sent a parcel to herself, put an AirTag in it and dialled the police. Law enforcers found the thieves 26 kilometres from the post office. As it turned out, they took out orders from at least 12 local residents.

The criminals were charged with possession of cheques with intent to defraud, conspiracy, identity and credit card theft, theft and burglary. The entire investigation cost just $29 - which is how much the AirTag cost.
