Report: NVIDIA is expected to announce plans to apply CPO technology to its next-generation AI accelerator, GB300, which is set to be released in the second half of this year, at its annual developer conference, GTC 2025, on March 20.

NVIDIA has chosen CPO as one of the key technologies to address the overheating issues recently raised with its Blackwell AI accelerator.

The leading company in CPO technology is Taiwan’s TSMC. Last month, TSMC announced that it had successfully integrated CPO with its advanced packaging technology, CoWoS. TSMC is reportedly set to begin mass production of NVIDIA’s CPO-based AI accelerators in August.

Meanwhile, Samsung Foundry plans to introduce its own AI-optimized, low-power, high-performance CPO-integrated solution in 2027.
