Microsoft is preparing a major Windows 11 performance push, and the real target is WinUI.

Windows 11 is moving to WinUI, including the Start menu and Agenda view in Notification Center.

At Build 2026, Windows UI engineer Chris Anderson previously said Microsoft has invested heavily in reducing WinUI memory usage and moving it to the Windows system compositor for better performance.

Parliamentary Panel Summons Google, Meta, X & Snapchat Amid PM Modi Video Row

• A Parliamentary Standing Committee will meet on August 3 to discuss the regulation of social and digital platforms.
• Senior representatives from Google, Meta, X and Snapchat, along with officials from MeitY and the Ministry of Home Affairs, have been called to attend.

Something similar is now being developed for 6G, the next generation of mobile networks.

Instead of only providing internet, future 6G networks could also use radio signals to detect people through walls, track movement, measure breathing and even monitor heartbeats.

Researchers have already shown that Wi-Fi can do many of these things, and some products already use parts of this technology.

The big difference is that 6G is being built to make this feature more accurate, work over longer distances and support many more devices.

If it becomes widely available, 6G could be used in hospitals, emergency rescue, elderly care and smart buildings, not just for faster internet.

What 6G could enable:

Locating and tracking people, vehicles, drones, or objects, even if they emit no signal

Measuring their speed, direction, and trajectory

Estimating the number of people and crowd movements

Recognizing a gait, posture, or certain gestures

Detecting a fall or prolonged immobility

Mapping a room, obstacles, and possibly certain materials

Monitoring traffic, level crossings, and parking spaces

Assisting autonomous vehicles, robots, and drones in avoiding obstacles

- Searching for victims during a fire, earthquake, or under rubble

- Improving monitoring of precipitation and certain environmental phenomena

- Automatically adapting the connection when an obstacle blocks the signal.

These capabilities are still experimental and will depend on the final standard, the frequencies used, and the equipment deployed.
