Samsung Group and SK Group announced a long term investment plan worth US$3,100,000,000,000 (US$3.1 trillion), equivalent to ₩4,755 trillion, making it one of the largest technology investment plans ever announced.
Samsung plans to invest approximately US$1,730,000,000,000 (US$1.73 trillion), focusing on semiconductors, AI infrastructure, batteries, and advanced manufacturing. SK Group plans to invest approximately US$1,370,000,000,000 (US$1.37 trillion), primarily to expand AI data centers and the HBM memory ecosystem.

It is important to note that this is not a one time cash investment. The plan spans many years and includes corporate investment, strategic partnerships, and project financing.

Even so, the scale alone sends a powerful message. South Korea is making an unprecedented bet on AI and semiconductors, aiming to strengthen its position as a global technology powerhouse.

They are currently fighting over pricing

But neither side is losing..

The only loser in this case is consumer!!

Why can’t non-Chinese companies compete with the Chinese?

The main reason is supply chain control.

Almost every big innovation you see in Chinese phones, like silicon batteries, tri-fold designs, or other new features, comes from their tight control over the supply chain. This lets them build and launch new tech faster than others.

For example, this year Qualcomm and MediaTek released their chips early so that Chinese brands could launch new phones before the Chinese New Year, giving them a big sales lead.

So, can non-Chinese brands or new companies compete with them?

Yes, but not in hardware.

In the future, as supply chains become more global and less dependent on China, the real competition will shift to software and AI features.

The smartphone race is slowly moving from hardware to software, and that is where the next big battles will happen.

A Japanese capsule toy company is making tiny PC parts that you can collect and build.

Tarlin has teamed up with ASRock, Gigabyte, MSI, and Intel to create small, realistic PC components that fit together like a real desktop PC.

The first collection includes:
- Three different motherboards from ASRock, Gigabyte, and MSI
- An Intel Core Ultra 7 processor
- A PC case
- A power supply
- Case fans

The parts are not just for display. You can assemble them to build a miniature PC, making them more fun than regular capsule toys.

Tarlin is already known in Japan for making detailed miniature tech collectibles, and this is its latest project.
