We are pleased for your ascension. However, the term "console peasant" doesn't equal "console gamer"- a console peasant is most likely able to afford a PC anyway, but they opt not to, due to their unhealthy attachment to their product or company who manufactures the console. They, like Social Justice Warriors, don't use logic to argue, and will come up with all sorts of flawed arguments that they either heard from PR departments of companies or other console fanboys, or things they have simply made up themselves. Such arguments include:
1.) It costs thousands to buy and service even entry level PCs, 2.) Our eyes can only see in this amount of Frames per Second, 3.) To play the latest games, a PC builder will have to constantly buy new and expensive hardware, 4.) A controller is more accurate at shooters than a PC, 5.) Paying $60 for a game on console allows the companies to stay afloat.
Don't think of the term "peasant" when describing these people- think of the term "fanboy". Console games mostly continue to play console because either they just find it easier, or they would like to still play games with their friends. They aren't irrational like the fanboys that Microsoft and Sony encourage to exist for increased profit margins, but they are simply gamers.
I personally have nothing against console systems, hardware or most of their players- I understand the convenience of not having to build a PC by yourself or paying out extortionate amounts of money to companies like Wal-Mart, CyberPower PC, Currys PC World and others. However, the paid online subscription services, plus Microsoft and Sony's attempts to make more and more money at the expense of the consumer's trust means that, upon principle, I will never give them my money.
That's my two cents on the matter.
