Two points of reference. One, the Banks are requiring that any transfer over £3,000 are reported (same in Europe and as low as €1,000 in Italy).
This isn’t for money laundering (even though they’ll pretend it is). This is to stop runs on Bank deposits. To stop you transferring all your money out of a specific institution.
New Digital Euro guidelines are also being proposed, whereby (when all currency is converted to CBDC), all holdings (savings) above €3,000 are held and controlled by the ECB (in order to protect the liquidity of the banks). So it’s no longer your money.
