I recommend the beanie. 1st item.

If you can afford it, their blanket is also the highest quality shielding I could find for sleeping (save lead, etc). (contains nickel).
Basics; they whack you whilst you sleep; wear the beanie when sleeping, minimum.
For seriously heavy attacks, I use a LEAD DENTAL APRON to sleep under.
that stops even X-rays (the most powerful EMF there is).
Newbies, you need our cybertorture-defences.v.0.1.pdf in our Operations .zip - download from cipherassets.com
Lots of very well researched items in there all put together or personally checked out by me, your group owner/admin.
If you're seriously getting whacked on a daily basis (as in all day every day) DO please get yourself a lead dental jacket per specs in the file above (worked out by another old-timer TI I talked out of his lead shed, to write up his methodologies for us all; note supplier ... and wait-times.

I don't have one; I wish I did <g>
Absent all round cover via the method above, TWO lead dental aprons = wrap around your body = better shielding than you need (too thick) ... and too heavy, but if it's the only way you can survive, DO IT.
Don't forget about the BACKSCATTER (60% of so of the beam strength goes BACK THROUGH YOU, bouncing off the floor e.g. when you're in bed; DEAL WITH THAT TOO.

I use a simple method (as I only have one lead dental apron) ... water in bottles, underneath the bed (absorbs the backscatter, reducing it massively).
If you have or can afford TWO lead dental aprons, sleep with one OVER you and sleep ONTOP of the other one = 100% effective at stopping direct beams AND BACKSCATTER with that setup.
but ... only for the places covered by the lead dental apron.
Beanie
Vest
Blanket

Latter two have the best shielding.
Tip, if you go for the blanket, consider the 2mx2m version; sleep inside it using it like a sleeping bag = backscatter problem solved.
If you're broke, consider MAKING something like the products above. Not as hard to do as you might think (especially if you can beg, borrow or NOT STEAL lols ... a sewing machine).
I blagged a free sewing machine (ancient but working and that's all that matters).
Find yourself a granny who's buying herself a new sewing machine. ;)
