Eminent economist Ashok Lahiri has been appointed as the new vice-chairperson of the NITI Aayog.
He will replace Suman Berry, who has been serving in the post since April 2022.

Always choose good company and grow together.
Many people call me selfish because I prefer to spend time with people who are as intelligent as me or more intelligent than me. But intelligence does not mean only academic intelligence.
Some of my contacts may be “illiterate” by formal definitions, but they are excellent businessmen, sharp decision-makers, or successful politicians.
In school and college, many of us wasted precious time in casual pastimes. Today, we don’t even know where many of those people are or what they are doing. After a decade, we realise that if we had studied better or spent time with the right people, we could have achieved much more.

🖊️... अत्यंत दुखद। इस बात में अब किसी शक की गुंजाइश नहीं बची कि पंखा ही असली गुनाहगार असली अपराधी है। सरकार को तत्काल प्रभाव से पंखों को पूरे देश में बैन करना चाहिए। विशेषकर बैंक अधिकारियों के लिए।
हर घटना में वही मौजूद मिलता है, हर बार वही छत से लटका हुआ दिखाई देता है—जैसे कोई पुराना, चालाक अपराधी जो हर बार मौके पर भी रहता है और हर बार बच भी निकलता है।
सवाल यह है कि पंखा हर बार बच निकलता कैसे है?
इतनी वारदातों के बाद भी न कोई गिरफ्तारी, न कोई सज़ा।
लगता है पंखों की कोई बहुत बड़ी लॉबी है, जो हर बार उसे कानून के शिकंजे से बचा लेती है।
वरना इतनी बार नाम आने के बाद तो किसी इंसान को कब का सज़ा हो चुकी होती।
अब वक्त आ गया है कि पंखे के खिलाफ सख़्त कार्रवाई हो।
हर घर के पंखे की गिनती हो, उसका रिकॉर्ड तैयार किया जाए, और जिन पंखों का इतिहास संदिग्ध हो—उन्हें तुरंत हिरासत में लिया जाए।
क्योंकि यह कोई मामूली अपराधी नहीं है—यह वह अपराधी है जो हर बार हमारे सामने होता है और फिर भी हाथ नहीं आता।
आप माने या न माने पंखा ही दोषी है, और उसे हर बार बच निकलने की छूट अब बंद होनी चाहिए। उसे सार्वजनिक तौर पर फांसी मिलनी ही चाहिए।
हे ईश्वर .... ऐसे पंखों से बैंक अधिकारियों की रक्षा करें।
