Such transitions are possible (40-50-60 Lakhs salaries), private jobs are not good for non IIT non IIM/ISB/XLRI/FMS people! Don’t go at lower levels, but at mid and high levels it’s really rewarding, many SBI RBI people have resigned and joined at salaries more than 50 lakhs!
