जैन धर्मसंघ के 23 वें तीर्थंकर भगवान पार्श्वनाथ के 2900 वें जन्म कल्याणक और 2800 वें निर्वाण कल्याणक पर भारत सरकार द्वारा 800 रुपए और 900 रुपए के विशेष स्मारक सिक्के जारी किए गये है। यह सिक्के 40 ग्राम शुद्ध चांदी से बने गए हैं। केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्रालय के आर्थिक कार्य विभाग ने गत दिनों इन सिक्कों के संबंध में गजट अधिसूचना भी जारी कर दी है। गौरतलब है कि 23वें तीर्थंकर भगवान पार्श्वनाथ का जन्म 2900 वर्ष पूर्व वाराणसी(उत्तर प्रदेश) में हुआ था और उनका निर्वाण 2800 साल पहले 100 वर्ष की उम्र में सम्मेद शिखर पर्वत (झारखंड) पर हुआ था ।
