2. Reasoning is the AI's capacity to process thoughts, ensuring consistency and refinement in decision-making. Presently, AI can perform causal reasoning and handle short-term tasks efficiently. Future enhancements will focus on developing robust, efficient, and long-term reasoning abilities, allowing AGI to solve complex problems with higher precision.
3. Memory consists of short-term and long-term storage and retrieval of information. At this stage, AI systems have distinct mechanisms for handling different memory spans. The future vision includes the development of efficient hierarchical memory structures and self-updating capabilities, enabling AGI to continuously learn and adapt over time without manual intervention.
4. Metacognition involves consciousness, self-awareness, and the ability to self-evolve. Current AI can perform basic metacognitive tasks. In the future, AGI is expected to have advanced self-evolutionary cognitive capabilities, allowing it to enhance its own performance autonomously and develop new insights.
