RBI Assistant 2026 7 Step Strategy – A Practical & Realistic Plan

After observing the growing number of courses and strategies being promoted—often adding to confusion rather than clarity—I felt it was important to share a simple, genuine, and workable preparation plan for RBI Assistant 2026.

This strategy is suitable for both beginners and repeat candidates. Please follow it step by step. At this stage, it is neither possible nor necessary to cover everything. We need to be smart and focused. Covering the entire Prelims and Mains syllabus together is extremely difficult. Hence, for now, our primary focus should be Prelims.

(Do not worry about Mains at this stage, except for General Awareness)

Step 1: Previous Year Questions (PYQs)
• If you haven’t already, start by solving previous year papers.
• Nothing prepares you better for this exam than PYQs—they help you understand the level, pattern, and expectations clearly.

Step 2: Mental Calculation Practice
• Make mental calculation a daily habit. Without this, speed will always be an issue. (Around 30-45 mins per day)
• Practice 10–15 problems daily, including:
✓Addition
✓Subtraction
✓Multiplication
✓Division
✓Squares and basic approximations

Step 3: Topic-wise Practice (QRE)
• Make a complete list of topics from Quants, Reasoning, and English.
• Pick one topic per day from each.
• Practice 50–100 easy-level questions from that topic without skipping. (2 hours per subject)

What about concepts?
• If you can’t solve even easy questions, refer to any basic YouTube concept video.
•Deep theory is not required—basic understanding is enough.
• Reminder for Beginners: Forget about Mains for now. Focus only on Prelims-level questions.
• Once you feel comfortable with a topic, move to the next one.

Step 4: Live Mocks & Daily Quizzes
• Start attempting live mocks regularly.
• Initial scores may be low—this is normal. Improvement will come with consistency.
• You may also attempt daily quizzes available on various platforms.

Step 5: Full-Length Free Mocks
• Once you gain confidence with concepts and practice, start attempting the free full-length mocks provided by different institutes.

Step 6: General Awareness
• Simultaneously, begin reading daily General Awareness from February onwards. (An hour a day)
• Use any single source you are comfortable with and stay consistent.

Step 7: English
• 15-20 Minutes of daily newspaper reading will do (Editorials not needed).

Important Note
✓ Please do not fall into the trap of so-called “crash courses.”
✓There is no shortcut at this stage. Only focused effort, discipline, and a clear strategy can help you now.
✓ Stay consistent. Trust the process.
✓ Preparation done with clarity always beats preparation done in panic.

Wishing you the very best,
Good luck!
