What if the design on OPs became more minimal to drive the attention to Oppo because OPlus thinks minimalism is bad?

A solid contender came out on the dumbwatch market. It's just a Casio (W-221H-1AV), but rarely anything comes even close to the screen size of a smartwatch, with the body of a classic digital, so it's appreciated.
The perks of dumbwatches are immeasurable:
1. You don't worry much if you lose it
2. It never becomes obsolete
3. You don't charge it, you find it in your drawer after few years and it still runs
4. It's visible under extreme sunlight
5. It's lighter to your wrist than a smartwatch
6. It isn't a mirror of your phone, you can't procrastinate your time inside it

I've been thinking about captioning this pic for a minute, and yet no amount of sarcasm would manage to hide what I think.
I need these questions answered on public record by a googler:
Will a developer who wants to publish solely on F-droid still have to provide personal details to Google?
Will Shizuku be broken?
Would a victim change the system clock to bypass the 24h wait?
Will backups of Google Play apps install successfully when developer didn't enroll into GP's automatic protection?
Will you provide any remedy like an option in setup wizard because a person setting up their device with sideloading in mind certainly knows what they're doing?
If ADB is allowed to instantly install any app, why wouldn't it be allowed to instantly change sideloading availability?

Right now we have *more*, *monetized* data leaks, so many surfaces to profile a person, it makes it even more obvious that you should provide no or fake data in all places where it won't have any consequences. Small steps.

If you wanna grill, please very much do. "There's no bypass because we're not changing anything about ADB" doesn't justify the actual implications, but instead it's a refusal to tackle the impact of changes that are far from merely technical. They should be asked "Would a victim be able to bypass the restriction over ADB, but not install an app?".

You might've been wondering about the impact of the capture exposure on full res iPhone 17 Pro ProRAWs. It's major and defines whether it's able to offer details beyond a clear Bayer 12MP or ends up far from reaching its level (yes, it's not defocus, it's extreme denoising). A popular iPhone user should start bracketing them and use the results as a (proper) ragebait for the people who claim a ProRAW contains all dynamic range you'd need.

For those who need context: the vulnerability rating got massively degraded from 9.8 (hide in your bunkers) to 7.0 (chain it or it's useless).

Also there on Vivo X90 Pro+. The frame duration visible here correctly translates to 15 fps, as the only high-res sensor mode at 30 fps they implemented is direct 8k which they didn't expose, at least as a raw stream. A big part of why these tables finallyβ¦

dumpsys media.camera is specifically android.scaler.availableStreamConfigurationsMaximumResolution. Some OEMs (most recent example can be X300 Ultra) actually do the least effort high res nuking. Their android.scaler.availableMinFrameDurationsMaximumResolution is filled with promising data, but the actual table (which should control the app access to formats) is nowhere to be seen. It's misleading, but the goal was never to support third party apps, the goal is to pass CTS with lowest developer resource spend.π7β€1π1
Nekogram, a Telegram client present in Google Play was officially (confirmed in author's communication after being found out) uploading user phone numbers to a bot. The published code wasn't matching the binaries. This wouldn't happen on F-droid (with reproducible builds and probably also without them), which Google never even assured of being unaffected by the hostile design of 24h wait before app installation.

Major. Google started (perhaps months ago, but without announcing it) to enroll all new apps into "automatic protection" (PairIP) by default, trying to scare developers from disabling it. As I explained in the past, it fails to protect the apps, while interfering with users who install genuine, unaltered builds.
This means that googled, bootloader locked devices not logged into a Google account will slowly turn unusable whenever you need a single app from GP.

As much as I'm concentrated on compact devices, Nubia Z80 Ultra is very much exploit-unlockable, so if there's something you'd like in it over Mi 17 Ultra, feel free to go for it.
Bonus: I made a chaotic write-up about my experience with Mi 17 for the period I owned it, it's available at: @xiaomi_pudding
I may buy it again some day, but as a Chinese variant so that it makes economic sense.
