The condition of those who takes 'Auliyā, as other than Allāh
The likeness of those who take (false deities as) Auliyā’ (protectors, helpers) other than Allāh is the likeness of a spider who builds (for itself) a house; but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider’s house - if they but knew.
(Surah Al-‘Ankabūt, ayat 41)
Imām As-Si'dī رحمه الله said:
This is a likeness that Allāh gives those who worship others alongside Him, seeking thereby honour, strength and benefit, in order to explain that the outcome will be contrary to that which they seek to achieve. The likeness of such a person is that of the spider which makes a house to protect itself from heat, cold and dangers, but {Verily the frailest} that is, the weakest {of houses is the spiders house}.
[Tafsīr As-Si’dī]
Imām Ibn Kathīr رحمه الله said:
Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
This is how Allah described the idolators in their reverence of dieties besides Him, hoping that they would help them and provide for them, and turning to them in times of difficulties. In this regard, they were like the house of a spider, which is so weak and frail, because by clinging to these gods they were like a person who holds on to a spider's web, who does not gain any benefit from that. If they knew this, they would not take any protectors besides Allah. This is unlike the Muslim believer, whose heart is devoted to Allah, yet he still does righteous deeds and follows the Laws of Allah, for he has grasped the most trustworthy handle that will never break because it is so strong and firm.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY WEALTH
Imām Hasan Al-Basrī رحمه الله said:
"Whomever Allāh gives provision and he thinks that Allāh is not testing him, has no wisdom. Whomever has little provision and thinks that Allāh will not look at (provide for) him, has no wisdom."
He then recited the ayat:
So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.
Ibn Abu Hātim recorded this statement from Qatādah.
Imām ibn Kathīr
So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded. Meaning: by ignoring and turning away from it.
We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing. Meaning: We opened the gates of provisions for them from wherever they wished, so that We deceive them.
Until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given. Meaning: such as wealth, children and provision.
All of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows. Meaning: they have no hope for any type of good thing.

And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). Will you not then understand?

BE RESPONSIBLE OH MOTHER AND FATHER!
Sheikh Badr bin 'Alī Al-'Utaybī
Reflect, oh sister. If the most powerful of nations, with what they possess of weapons of destruction and reasons for conflict, can come to the table in order to negotiate for the betterment of their people, then what about a small family responsible for protecting their young children, who are in more need of the two heads of the family: the mother and father?!

*Our Support For Pakistan*
33 million people have been affected by the floods and 1/3 of the country is underwater.
In light of the catastrophic damages caused by the floods, we have taken the initiative to do our part in assisting the countless vulnerable people who have been left without basic necessities.
A trusted brother will be travelling to Pakistan within the next week inshāAllah to give much needed aid; medication, food, water and sanitary products as required from personal funds.
We are aware many people desire to assist and are searching for a reliable medium, hence anyone who wishes to help may do so via the details provided below.
We are not a charity and are only offering a means through which the community can contribute. 100% of the funds collected will be used to assist those affected. Unfortunately, many organisations profit from such calamities and as such support is being given on the ground by hand.
For transparency, an audit will be published along with updates on a WhatsApp group for contributors. Message +44 7848 188089 to be added.
May Allāh enable us to implement the hadīth: "whoever is able to assist his brother, let him do so" [Muslim 2199].
Contributions should be sent before 25th September 2022 to:
