Ramadan is the spring of the Quran.

May Allah have mercy on Ayatollah Mirjahani. Near the end of his life, he had surgery on one of his eyes. During that time, his eye was still bandaged, and his other eye was weak as well.

He said: "The doctor told me not to do any academic work or reading anymore. So I stopped everything except I still read ten parts of the Quran every day. That I just can't give up."

And this was his routine outside of Ramadan...

There's one truth that, if we truly understand it this holy month, then we've had a blessed Ramadan and we've really learned something deep. And that truth is this: we follow a religion whose Prophet is alive. The more we connect with him, the more we benefit.

Another truth is that the Quran is also alive. Every single verse of it has life and soul. These are two sides of the same triangle: the living Quran and the living Ahlulbayt.

Then comes the third side—our hearts. If our hearts come alive, then the whole universe comes alive for us. At that point, in everything we do, divine signs reveal themselves, and every moment becomes filled with joy and meaning. Being Muslim means connecting ourselves to this living, breathing truth.

يک حقيقتی هست كه اگر ما همين يك حقيقت را در این ماه مبارک پي ببريم، ماه رمضان مباركي بر ما گذشته است و خيلي چيز فهميده ايم و آن‌ اين است كه ما متدين به يك ديني هستيم كه پيغمبر آن دين زنده است. هر چقدر بیشتر ارتباط بگیریم با او، منفعت بیشتری کسب می کنیم.

مساله دیگر آن است که قرآن نیز زنده است؛ هر آیه‌اش جان دارد و روح. این دو ضلع یک مثلث‌اند: قرآنِ زنده و معصومانِ زنده علیهم‌السلام.

ضلع سوم، دل ماست. اگر دل ما زنده شود، همه هستی برای ما زنده می‌شود. آن‌گاه در هر نشست و برخاست، آیات الهی تجلی می‌کند و لحظه‌ها سرشار از ذوق و بهره می‌شود. مسلمانی یعنی پیوستن به این حقیقتِ زنده و جاندار.

برای بالا بردن آمار کشته‌ها، حتی به نیروهای خودی از پشت شلیک کردند. مرگ‌ها باید ساخته می‌شد، فرقی نمی‌کرد هدف کیست.

They shot their own in the back just to inflate the death count. Deaths had to be manufactured, who it was didn't matter.

رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم

بهترین فرد امت من کسی است که جوانی خویش را در طاعت خدا گذراند و نفس خویش را از خوشیهای دنیا باز دارد و به آخرت دل بندد. بالاترین درجه بهشت پاداش خداوند به اوست.

خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي مَنْ هَدَمَ شَبَابَهُ في طاعةِ اللَّهِ، وَفَطَمَ نَفْسَهُ عَنْ لَذَاتِ. الدُّنْيَا وَتَوَلَّهَ بِالآخِرَةِ، إِنَّ جَزاءهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَعلَى مَرَاتِبِ الجَنَّةِ.

the PROPHET (sawa) said The best of my community are those who spend away their youth in Allah's obedience, wean themselves away from the worldly pleasures and are infatuated with the Hereafter. Surely their reward upon Allah is the highest levels of Paradise.

Where Shariati wrote: "Fatima is Fatima,"
How beautiful it would have been if he had added:
"Fatima is Fatima because Khadija is Khadija."

Yes—Khadija reached that lofty station,
not because she was the wife of the Prophet,
not because she became the mother of Fatima,
and not because of her boundless wealth and possessions...

Khadija became "Khadija"
because of the depth of her being,
because of her pure essence and heavenly character,
because of that exalted soul—worthy of the greeting of Gabriel.

And so it was that Gabriel descended from the Lord to the Prophet and said:
"God sends His greetings to Khadija."

To become Khadija was a mystery...
And Fatima was the fruit of that mystery

آنجا که شریعتی قلم زد: «فاطمه، فاطمه است»،
چه زیبا بود اگر می‌افزود:
«فاطمه، فاطمه است چون خدیجه، خدیجه است».

آری؛ خدیجه به آن مقام والا نرسید،
نه از آن رو که همسر پیامبر بود،
نه بدان سبب که مادر فاطمه شد،
نه به واسطه‌ی آن اموال و ثروت بی‌کران...

خدیجه، «خدیجه» شد،
به خاطر آن سعه‌ی وجودی‌اش،
به خاطر آن طینت پاک و اخلاق آسمانی‌اش،
به خاطر آن روح بلندی که شایسته‌ی سلام جبرئیل گشت.

و اینچنین بود که جبرئیل از سوی پروردگار بر پیامبر نازل شد و گفت:
«خداوند به خدیجه سلام می‌رساند.»

خدیجه شدن، راز بود...
و فاطمه، نتیجه‌ی آن راز.
