Hebrew Channel i24news:
New and concerning details about the launch of a Palestinian rocket near Ramallah:
- A locally manufactured "Qassam"-type rocket with a warhead was successfully launched by resistance fighters late at night last week.
- The rocket launch test occurred near the village of Kafr Ni'ma (approximately 4 kilometers from the Modi'in Illit settlement).
- Israeli security forces found the launch platform and the rocket's remnants a significant distance away from the launch site.
- Contrary to what was claimedโthe rocket was indeed launched and flew. It was not discovered during the manufacturing or storage phases, but rather was located after it had ascended into the air, disintegrated, and fell to the ground.
- Regarding the size of the warhead, contrary to what was saidโthe matter is still under examination by security officials. The assessment is that the rocket contained a relatively small warhead.
- This is the first time a rocket assembled in the West Bank has reached this level of maturity and technology.
- According to estimates by experts in the field: A "Qassam" rocket of this type, which was seized, could have a range of nearly 10 kilometers. From the launch point, it could reach at least the "Modi'in" settlement.

In mid-2023, a small resistance cell in Jenin began manufacturing, testing, and even launching locally-produced rockets toward nearby settlements.
I have collected photos and videos from that period, showing the process step by step from assembly, to test launches, to live firing attempts.
Importantly, this was not an officially adopted project by any of the major factions. The fighters themselves claimed loyalty to the Al-Qassam Brigades, but no movement formally endorsed or announced it. It was an independent, tight-knit group working under extremely difficult conditions.
At the time, reports surfaced that Israeli forces had assassinated one of the key individuals behind the effort due to lapses in security, causing the project to go quiet.
Fast forward to now new reports from near Ramallah show rockets once again being tested and launched, proving that the idea never died. The Jenin attempt in 2023 was a first spark, carried forward today in different places and by different groups.
This history matters it shows that resistance innovation has been quietly alive in the West Bank for years, even before these recent revelations.
