"This is not just a movie about a crime. The aim was to tell a story that would make people think. We wanted to open up a conversation about violence — what led Elize to commit such a brutal act?"

"We wanted to show this woman's duality. It's a story people can relate to in many ways, but unfortunately with the worst possible outcome,"

The events unfold in the USA and Russia, with the action taking place at the height of the Cold War. The film's protagonist, Troy "Assassin" Kelly (Reynolds), a dashing U.S. Navy pilot, finds himself deep behind enemy lines and is discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a gruff former KGB agent with a soft spot for American culture.

The plot follows the Ingalls family as they leave Wisconsin for a fresh start in the West. However, this adaptation goes beyond the classic narrative, offering a kaleidoscopic view of the era while simultaneously exploring the lives of the Osage families living on the same land.
