#NAME
in Hebrew (Old testament writings) is SHEM, while in Greek (New testament writings) is ONOMA,


And it means,

CHARACTER, HONOUR, AUTHORITY, APPELLATION/ CONSPICUOUS POSITION/OFFICE, MARK!


It also means THE REPORT concerning you, that which you are KNOWN and FAMOUS for, it means your RENOWN (between YOU AND GOD in this case referenced in the verse... REV. 2:17).


#WHITE
as used in the verse is the word leukos which also means "LIGHT"


#STONE
is the word psēphos which is for pebble, it also means TICKET, VOTE or VERDICT (concerning you), it also means VOICE!


#KNOW
as used in "which no man #knoweth" is the choice Greek Word GINOSKO.

It is the choice word for THE MOST INTIMATE KIND OF KNOWING that births FULL UNDERSTANDING, ASSURANCE AND EXPERIENCE of that which is KNOWN!

This is the choice word JESUS used in John 17:3 when He defines LIFE ETERNAL, AS KNOW GOD AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.

This isn't EIDO, for awareness, it's not a casual KNOWING, but a MOST INTIMATE KNOWING SUCH AS ONE OF CONSUMMATION IN MARRIAGE,

SUCH INTIMACY BETWEEN THE BRIDE AND HER BRIDEGROOM IS WHAT THE KNOWING OF GINOSKO STANDS FOR.


This is the KNOWING that only the recipient of the WHITE STONE AND THE NAME KNOWS.



#WHITE_STONE
means you have gone through the Judgement trials and testings of God (corrective Judgement and dealings), and have completed them and have been certified "OVERCOMER" by God Himself!


It is at this point that GOD Himself places you at the Place of AUTHORITY, responsibility and function in His Body that ONLY YOU KNOW, TO SUCH DEGREE AS #GINOSKO!


POSSIBILITY EXISTS FOR OTHERS TO HAVE VARYING DEGREES OR MEASURES OF AWARENESS OF YOUR NAME BEFORE GOD, SOME WITH MORE CERTAINTY THAN OTHERS,

A COMMENTARY
ON THE HISTORY OF
THE WHITE STONE AND
THE NAME FROM PERGAMUM
...REV. 2:12-17!


The historical backdrop of Pergamum gives us some insight into the symbolism of the white stone:

First, the white stone imagery comes from trial procedures in Pergamum. Osborne writes, “In ancient trials jurors would cast a white or black stone into an urn to vote for acquittal or guilt (cf. Acts 26:10); while no name was written on the stones, the trial setting could make sense in the Pergamene situation.”[1]Jesus could be communicating their acquittal from guilt. Walvoord writes, “In courts of law being given a white stone is thought to represent acquittal in contrast to a black stone which would indicate condemnation.”[2]

Second, the white stone imagery comes from the Pergamum games. Osborne writes, “It was common for members of a guild or victors at the games to use stones as a ticket for admission to feasts, and also for free food or entrance to the games.”[3] Thus Jesus could be explaining that because of the white stone, these believers get free access into the feast of God: heaven.
