CONCERNING WATER BAPTISM



JOHN THE BAPTIST is considered the #LAST of old testament prophets.

And everything GOD demonstrated through them were types and shadows of the reality to come through JESUS (The New Covenant)... Heb. 8:5.


So when JOHN came baptising with water, the people were seeing something they had never seen before and were drawn; JOHN was chosen of God to pull the people's attention to prepare them and let them know that ONE is coming that will come with another Kind of BAPTISM, the real thing.


JOHN was considered the last of the OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS, so even His baptism was a type and shadow of things to come!


So what was the real thing to come that JOHN talked about?


BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE... these are two different baptisms which a CHRISTIAN #must undergo in order to #ENTER GLORY BODILY. (We may discuss this another time since it's not the primary focus of discussion now).


So JOHN the BAPTIST who was appearing on the scene of Israel 400 YEARS after they last saw a Prophet (Malachi) was able to use WATER BAPTISM to call people's attention to the coming REAL BAPTISM.


However, none of the people baptised were saved, not even a bit.

They all needed the real DEAL that would come through THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, JESUS in order to be saved. Salvation was to be found only in JESUS and whatever He chooses as relevant... His teachings and HIS OWN BAPTISM etc!


Now, one could ask, why then did Jesus undergo the baptism of JOHN, WATER BAPTISM?


Because He came to fulfil all the old testament requirement (THE LAWS N THE PROPHETS) while opening THE NEW LIVING WAY which He is to reveal and show for Man's SALVATION!


Other Spiritual importance of His encounter with John included the fact that by #Levitical laws, a PRIEST needed to lay hands on the Sacrificial LAMB to transfer the people's sins before 'it', can die for their sins. This happened at the Baptism.


Also, JOHN THE BAPTIST was the only human on Earth that God gave the legal SIGN of ordination for JESUS CHRIST to commence His MINISTRY AS SON OF GOD. (JN. 1:33-34).


So for all these reasons, JESUS needed JOHN THE BAPTIST to lay hands on Him before starting His MINISTRY.

He who Prepared the way for THE LORD was chosen of God to ordain His Son into THE WAY,

and #then HE JOHN was to submit to JESUS and to THE REAL BAPTISM OF JESUS so that He too could be SAVED!


Through many SCRIPTURES, you'll see that #WATER stands for THE #WORD OF GOD, which is the WASHING one needs to SEE AND ENTER THE KINGDOM!


Just to mention, after Jesus's BAPTISM, He Himself did not baptise anyone and did not ask His disciples to be baptised; no such records in Holy Scriptures.

His disciples however did baptise some people and He allowed them.

This can be safely said to be for the sake of their faith level and level of understanding at the time, and also JESUS by allowing them gives credence to THE CALL AND MESSAGE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST (AS ONE FROM GOD) because many of the followers of JOHN THE BAPTIST continued with JESUS.

It would've been counter productive to #actively stop the Baptism of JOHN who introduced Him as JESUS


#Passively afterwards, JESUS HIMSELF NEVER PREACHED that anyone needed John's Water Baptism; and when He mentioned WATER, He was referring to THE WATER OF THE WORD as further clearly shown by other scripts (JN. 3:5, EPHE. 5:26-27).


Jesus in His EARTHLY walk with His disciples knew there were MANY TRUTHS they were not yet ready to learn, he could not teach them because of their level of understanding ( Jn. 16:12)

So to summarize, WATER BAPTISM is a shadow of THE REAL BAPTISM that SAVES, which are

1. THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST (Regeneration of the Spirit Man)

2. THE BAPTISM OF FIRE (for thorough purging His Floor, removal of EMBODIED dross and chaff from our natures, Salting us with fire.... Mat. 3:11-12, Mrk. 9:49).

WATER BAPTISM WILL #NEVER_SAVE ANY MAN, AND CAN #NEVER_PREVENT ANY MAN THAT IS BAPTISED BY THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE FROM ENTERING GLORY BODILY.
