R1a Density: Europe & South Asia

For clarity, and to counter misinformation on this topic, the oldest example of R1a found in South Asia is dated to approx. 1000 BCE. The oldest example in Central Asia has been dated to 2100 BCE. However, much, much older examples have been found in Europe, such as Penchanitsa, Russia (10000 BCE); Vasil'evka, Ukraine (8800 BCE); and Karelia (6800 BCE).

The dating of samples mentioned above demonstrates that R1a in S. Asia is descended from ancient European examples. Coupled with linguistic evidence and genomic data, and basically all academic research on the topic to date, this provides strong support for the migration of R1a carriers into India from N. Europe, instead of an indigenous mutation.

What the people say here absolutely resonates with me. I see what they see in the natural world, and by natural world I mean the wild. I mean earth in her natural, organic state. The Komi (Komi: комияс) or Komi-Zyryans (Zyryans), are a Permian (Finno-Ugric) ethnic group whose homeland is in the north-east of European Russia around the basins of the Vychegda, Pechora and Kama rivers.
