"Perun is the Slavic god of thunder and the sky. He is one of the most powerful Slavic gods and member of Slavic trinity (Triglav) together with Svarog and Svetovid. He was worshipped by the Russians until their Christianization in 988 by St. Vladimir I, Grand Prince of Kiev. Idols of Perun depicted him as a large man with a silver head and golden mustaches.

Torghatten - Island of Torget, Norge🇳🇴
Between Bronnoysund and Rorvik, an astonishing sight meets the eye: an over 700-foot high mountain that rises straight out of the sea. That is Torghatten, the mountain with a huge hole in it. This being Norway, the land of legends and trolls, there is a story about how the hole came to be in the mountain. Two feuding kings lived across the fjord from each other. One had seven daughters, the other wanted a wife. One night he saw the daughters frolicking on the beach and went in hot pursuit of his favorite. He couldn’t reach her and, thinking “if I can’t have her, nobody will,” flew into a rage and shot an arrow at her to kill her. But, her father had heard the commotion, rushed down, and threw his hat in the way of the arrow, saving her life. Trolls were there too, and just as the sun was coming up, hat, arrow, and everything turned to stone because trolls can’t bear sunlight.

Все, сказанное сейчас о Волосе, находит более или менее близкое соответствие в образе русского Николы.
Относительно связи Николы с загробным миром мы уже говорили выше (§ 11.3). Можно, в частности, предположить, что в результате рассмотренного ранее отождествления с архангелом Михаилом Никола получает функцию охранителя загробного мира и водителя душ и в дальнейшем в этой своей функции объединяется с Волосом; не исключена, однако, и обратная последовательность событий, т. е. объединение с Волосом в принципе могло и предшествовать отождествлению со св. Михаилом (ср. ниже, § III.5.2, § III.5.4.1 и § III.7, некоторые западнославянские и южнославянские показания, которые могут говорить именно в пользу такого решения вопроса). В этом же плане заслуживает специального внимания связь Николы с поминанием так называемых “заложных” покойников (т. е. нечистых, умерших без покаяния), которая может проявляться в семицких и троицких обрядах.
