After many months and a few iterations later, I have finally concluded this art piece. There are two versions, but I will upload this one because it is better. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased by the overall result.

The piece features a vast, ethereal landscape upon which standing stones are plentiful but few are magical. The lone adventurer stumbles upon a set of standing stones, playing host to a beautiful white tree of exquisite essence.

Here is the rough sneak-peek of the upcoming Midsummer artwork. The piece will feature the Midsummer Maiden (or Maiden Queen), as well as the totem animals of the Hyperboreans. I will proceed with the actual painting next month, so for now, the shading will have to suffice; though it leaves much to be desired 😅I'm not good when it comes to shading. I began to paint the bear because I could not resist. Hopefully I will come up with something really outstanding!

Edit: I have been informed her eyes are a bit off, but I'll fix that as I paint. There are a lot of imperfections.

Lamias and witches of Soria, Castille

In the Castillian town of Lumias, Soria, which name is a reference to these Lamia beings (nymphs) that the locals speak of around the Sickle of the Talegones River. There they say that a shepherd falls in love with a beautiful lady who combed her hair with a golden comb next to a fountain at the entrance of her cave. After proposing to her in marriage repeatedly every time she passed through the place, she, tired of his insistence, accepts on the condition that she find out her age. The riddle would be solved thanks to the help of a witch from the nearby town of Barahona, and the lamia has no choice but to accept in exchange, once again, for another condition: that he never look at her feet. The promise is not fulfilled when he looks at her goose legs, and the woman suddenly vanishes, leaving the shepherd despondent until he dies of melancholy shortly after next to the fountain.

Magical cauldrons of these witches can be distinguished by various purposes, ranging from those intended to enchant (for better or for worse), including love potions, which are merely curative, and ointments that provoke the sensation of flying to the coven or transforming into an animal.
Some plants these wise women used would be panaceas such as rosemary, sage, and valerian. And many others such as sheep sorrel, wormwood, red heather, cabronera, runner thistle, dandelion, blackthorn, lavender, bearberry, lemon verbena, fennel, mallow, chamomile, mint, nettle, pennyroyal, thyme, etc. all well known in Soria. Among those that offer altered states of consciousness would be solanaceous plants that contain powerful alkaloids, such as belladonna and jimsonweed (atropine), datura,, mandrake (used for affection), aconite or henbane. The latter was called Beluntia among the Celts, derived from the god Belenos

So looks like this is happening on the streets of Egypt at the time, which makes perfect sense to me, because according to the research of a certain scholars, the birth of Abrahamism/monotheism is traced to Egypt with the ancestors of pharaoh Akhenaten and the Hyksos pharaohs.

Hyksos pharaohs were never officially identified to my knowledge. Their origins and true identity remain a mystery, which to me is not an accident. Some scholars connected the Hyksos to the original, ancient Israelite Pharaohs, which they don’t have any blood/genetic connection to the common Jews of the world today. If they have any blood connection to anyone it is the modern day top elite Jewish families.

According to the scholars who agree with this research, the modern day common Jews as a people came into existence through a mass religious conversions in the past. I’m just going over what is typically believed by scholars and researchers who study the Akhenaten, Hyksos connection to the birth of Abrahamism.

Pharaoh Akhenaten was mixed Hyksos and Egyptian, and not fully Egyptian.

Hyksos have invaded Egypt sometime before the birth of Akhenaten. Hyksos were eventually driven out of Egypt, but some of the Hyksos aristocrats stayed in Egypt. One of them was Akhenaten’s grandfather Yuya a Hyksos elite figure who married into Egyptian royal family.

It’s a long story, one I’ve already shared several times. I’ll share some links for those who are hearing this for the first time, and wish to learn more.

Akhenaten was a heretic pharaoh who forcefully forbid the worship of Egyptian native gods, and promote monotheism/Abrahamism/worship of Aten with military force.
