Another end of winter celebration based on old pagan Slavic tradition is Maslinitsa from February 24 to March 1
Maslinitsa is one of the Slavic pagan celebrations that was incorporated into Christianity/Russian orthodox religion. Most Russian people know that this is a pagan celebration from slavic folk tradition. It involved the whole community, and gave an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate the end of winter, and return of warm season. That’s why it involves pancakes because that’s a representation of the sun, and also an effigy is usually burnt in a big bonfire and Russian people hold hands and dance in circle around the burning effigy

From what I’ve been able to gather, [and there are few examples] there seems to be an actual truly distinct Anglo-Saxon ethnic embroidery style, blending Germanic serpents with Celtic foliage, into a uniquely English native motif.
In contrast with commonly seen Celtic knotwork, which is highly ‘mathematical’ and regular in form, the Anglo-Saxon style takes on a more loose and impromptu form, with a unique usage of a wide color palette, contrasting sharply with the bicolor ’pixelated’ style of much of the Balto-Slavic race’s embroidery. Added to this, more detailed and depictive natural images take primacy. This dual aspect of this art mirrors the dual nature of the Anglo-Saxon himself: the cheery informality of the Celt and the reserved introspection of the German.

We see often in the pagan scene Slavic traditional dress for its continued usage and symbolism, to the neglect of our own racial motifs.
We can safely assume ethnic Anglo-Saxon symbology was outlawed soon into the Norman occupation, as it disappears then. We can fill that void.

I agree with this post, but unfortunately I live in one of those cookie cutter modern subdivisions in US and they don’t allow you to keep chickens, goats, or any other farm animals.
Also, I live in extremely hot & humid Florida, and not everything grows here. I’ve been experimenting at home with seeds I took from store-bought organic veggies. Some produced results, others did not grow at all.
Here in US people use their land for appearance reasons, and this is why the lawn service is such a large industry in US. In Russia on the other hand, many people utilize every inch of their land for growing food. They will plant some flowers here and there, but for the most part they like to use the land to grow food.
For me to start a food garden, I would have to strip my entire backyard from grass and all the plants and start over again. I would have to prepare the soil and put some sort of organic fertilizer, and then start planting. It is not as easy as it sounds, but I believe that it is vital, especially today. I plan to move from this cookie cutters subdivision somewhere in outskirts of town, closer to the countryside.

You all should seriously go out and buy veggies, berries, and fruit plants that you can or their seeds and start a garden. The stores also have chicks and ducklings and baby rabbits for sale now because of the Christian easter; fowl can provide and extreme amount of protein in their eggs for very little input of feed from their scratchings and rabbits are a high protein source of meat that you can keep inside or out, provided you can kill them (I never was able to not make them pets). At this time too, the dairy animals like cows and goats are calving and kidding so are going to be full of milk and come attached with a new animal, it is the best time to purchase one if you have the space and grass for them as cheese, milk, and yogurt are the best source of animal protein after meat and eggs, and you can keep them producing most of the year while also sharing the stores of milk with the baby.
I put a few store-bought dry black beans into pot of soil and watered it, because I wanted to see what happens. I wanted to see will they actually grow. The beans did grow. They turned into plants, and produced more beans.

Asatru for Icelanders is something completely different than what’s pre-packaged and distributed elsewhere. Iceland remained a homogenous society directly descended from Vikings. When this article says “open to all,” that’s just because these people are like naive babies who don’t understand what comes with multiculturalism.
Nobody who understands ancestral faith would urge someone to adopt a pagan religion that belongs to someone else. Africans have their own regional ancestral tradition, as do Mexicans, Asians, etc.
My ancestry is English and German. I can recognize the relationship between the Anglo-Saxons, ancient Germans, and Old Norse. But the cultures were not left in suspended animation for 1,400 years. They continued on in living development. For me, Grimms’ tales and English/Scottish border folklore has more relevance to my own ancestral folk religion.
It is utterly absurd that American Asatru orgs are selling Icelandic religion to Italians, Poles, Irish, and whoever. Italians brought their own folk religion with them. Ask anyone with an Italian grandmother! 🙄🤦🏼♀️
The right wing pagan sphere is becoming as inauthentic and anti-ethnic as the left. No wonder the Monad scam is working on these culturally bereft people 🤦🏼♀️

How Iceland recreated a Viking-age religion
The Ásatrú faith, one of Iceland’s fastest growing religions, combines Norse mythology with ecological awareness – and it’s open to all.

How American Slavery Echoed Russian Serfdom
Russian serfdom and American slavery ended within two years of each other; the defenders of these systems of bondage surprisingly shared many of the same arguments.
Domovoi is one the longest surviving Slavic folkloric creatures.
He is a household spirit. The Russian word for “house” (Dom) is in this being’s name Dom-ovoi. He is the guardian of the house.
Domovoi can be mean & mischievous if he gets mad at the humans living in the house.
That’s why whenever this creature makes his presence in the house known to the people by making things disappear, or making noises at night, Slavic people would leave out sweets or milk in the kitchen at night to make Domovoi happy.
This spirit is said to take a form of either a small hairy man, or a large cat. People of Russia still believe in Domovoi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63pbaxt9mjg&feature=share
