Mujamma Haraket:
Yesterday, September 19, 2026, the Palestine International Center convened the “Generations of Liberation” conference at al-Jinan Hall at al-Batoul Secondary School in Beirut, bringing together representatives of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement (Masar Badil), alongside the Generations of Liberation Movement, youth and student delegations from several countries, international Palestine-solidarity activists, and Palestinians from refugee camps across Lebanon. Held under the slogan, “If we do not have the ability to liberate Palestine today, then it is our responsibility to prepare the generation of victory and liberation,” the conference focused on organizing Palestinian youth in the camps and diaspora around a shared national vision and developing mechanisms for collective action.
The Palestine Information Center’s report noted the following:
“Ra’fat Murra, Hamas’s official responsible for mass mobilization in Lebanon, emphasized that the conference’s importance lies in bringing together Palestinian youth from various age groups and refugee camps and working to build bonds among them within a shared national vision.
Murra said that the conference’s significance lies in bringing together Palestinian youth of all age groups and from various Palestinian refugee camps, with the aim of working to build a generation of liberation.
He explained that preparing this generation requires raising awareness among young people and instilling in them the idea of Palestine, as well as organizing workshops that foster bonds and cohesion among them, leading to the establishment of mechanisms that enable them to think and act collectively.
He said, ‘If we want to prepare the generation of liberation, we must educate these young people and instill in them the idea of Palestine, and have them participate in workshops that foster bonds and cohesion among them, so that we can establish a mechanism to think together about how to liberate Palestine.’
He also thanked the residents of the Palestinian refugee camps for their attendance and participation, noting that this participation reflects a strong sense of responsibility.
He pointed out that the young people who participated in the conference affirmed their love for Palestine and their readiness to play their part, adding: ‘They are indeed the next generation of liberation.’”
Via video link, Ali Abu Shahin, a leader in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the holding of the ‘Generations of Liberation’ conference in Beirut, which brought together young people from various Palestinian refugee camps, is proof that this generation is worthy of our trust and pride.
Abu Shahin said that the conference, which brought together Palestinian youth from various camps, is proof that this is the ‘Generation of Liberation’ in whom we place confidence and of whom we are proud, noting that these young people may lay ‘the first stone or the first nail on the path to the liberation of Palestine.’
He expressed his delight at the participation of young men and women in the conference and at the awareness and sense of responsibility they demonstrated, noting that their presence sends a message to the ‘Israeli’ occupation that the current generation, which witnessed the events of October 7 and ‘Israeli’ crimes, is ready to participate in the path toward the liberation of Palestine.
Abu Shahin said, ‘I am happy with these young men and women who came here with full awareness and a sense of responsibility,’ emphasizing that their message to the occupation is that the current generation is ready, one day, to liberate Palestine.

Ansar Allah Political Bureau member Mohammed al-Bukhaiti told Al Mayadeen that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was a “school” in religion, ethics, humanity, politics, and public speaking, whose influence extended far beyond Lebanon.
Al-Bukhaiti says Hezbollah and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had a fundamental influence on the emergence of Ansar Allah in Yemen, recalling that Sayyed Nasrallah’s speeches and Hezbollah’s victories were repeatedly cited by Sayyed Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
He also recalls seeing Sayyed Nasrallah’s picture in the homes of Ansar Allah figures across Yemen, saying, “Had it not been for Hezbollah and had it not been for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, there would have been no Ansar Allah.”

Via Mujamma Haraket: ‘Al-Risala Net’, the online edition of a principal Hamas newspaper originally licensed under the movement’s al-Khalas Party, published the following retrospective on September 27, 2026, tracing Hassan Nasru’llah’s support for Gaza from the opening of the Lebanese front in October 2023 to his assassination in September 2024:
“Nasru’llah and Gaza: From the ‘Support Front’ to Open War
On September 27, 2024, the confrontation that had begun nearly a year earlier along the Lebanese-Palestinian border reached one of its most dramatic moments. The enemy assassinated Hizbu’ llah Secretary-General Hassan Nasru’llah in an airstrike on the party’s central headquarters in Beirut’s southern suburbs, ending his more than three decades at the party’s helm.
On the second anniversary of his shahāda, supporters and admirers of the resistance are recalling his role in supporting and championing the Palestinian cause.
Nasru’llah’s relationship with the Palestinian cause did not begin with the latest war in Gaza. After becoming Hizbu’ llah’s secretary-general in 1992, he made confrontation with the enemy central to the party’s rhetoric and regional alliances. Hizbu’ llah forged close ties with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad despite their differing ideological and political backgrounds.
Nasru’llah’s place in Palestinian and Arab memory grew stronger after the party’s attacks forced the occupation to withdraw from most of southern Lebanon in 2000, and again during the July 2006 war.
Following the events of the morning of October 7, Nasru’llah was quick to announce a war in support of Gaza and intervene militarily in the confrontation.
On the morning of October 8, 2023, Hizbu’ llah announced that it had fired guided missiles and artillery shells at three ‘Israeli’ military positions in the Shebaa Farms area. It explicitly stated that the operation was carried out ‘in solidarity with the Palestinian people.’
This marked the establishment of the support front, to which Nasru’llah remained committed until his last breath.
Gaza First
On November 3, 2023, Nasru’llah delivered his first speech since the outbreak of the war amid anticipation over whether he would announce Hizbu’ llah’s entry into open war.
He declared that the Lebanese front was linked to events in Gaza and that ‘all possibilities are open.’ He tied the level of escalation along the border to the course of the war in the Strip.
The speech established the political equation that would govern the party’s position for most of the following year: military pressure from Lebanon would continue for as long as the war on Gaza continued.
From then on, Nasru’llah repeatedly stated that ending the confrontation in southern Lebanon depended on ending the war in Gaza.
Just days before his assassination, the United Nations was still reporting that Hizbu’ llah linked an end to its operations to a ceasefire in the Strip.
In Nasru’llah’s conception, the front aimed to tie down part of the ‘Israeli’ army in the north and force the evacuation of ‘Israeli’ border towns. This would place additional military and political pressure on the enemy during the war in Gaza.
By late September 2024, more than 60,000 ‘Israelis’ had left their homes in the north. The confrontation had also displaced tens of thousands of Lebanese, with that number rising sharply as the war expanded.
The War Crosses Borders
One of the most significant turning points came on January 2, 2024, when Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, became a shahīd in a strike targeting him in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Nasru’llah regarded the strike on the southern suburbs themselves as crossing a red line. He warned that failing to respond would leave Lebanon exposed to further ‘Israeli’ operations.
Days later, Hizbu’ llah announced that it had fired 62 rockets at the ‘Israeli’ military base at Meron. It described the attack as an initial response to al-Arouri’s killing.
This development showed that events in Gaza no longer exclusively determined the course of the Lebanese front. ‘Israeli’ assassinations of Palestinian and Hizbu’ llah leaders inside Lebanon were also shaping the confrontation.
The Front Gradually Expands
As the months passed, the confrontation intensified, and Hizbu’ llah expanded its use of rockets, drones, and anti-tank missiles.
By the end of June 2024, UNIFIL forces had recorded more than 15,000 trajectories of shells, rockets, and fire across what is known as the Blue Line since the confrontation began. These included more than 12,000 trajectories from Lebanon toward ‘Israel,’ indicating the cumulative scale of the fighting over nine months.
The front had begun nearly a year earlier with strikes on three border positions in the Shebaa Farms. By this point, it had developed into a confrontation stretching from southern Lebanon to Beirut and from northern ‘Israel’ to Tel Aviv.
September 27: The Assassination of Nasru’llah
On September 27, 2024, the enemy carried out a series of heavy airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting what it described as Hizbu’ llah’s central headquarters.
The following day, Hizbu’ llah announced Hassan Nasru’llah’s shahāda. He was 64 years old and had served as the party’s secretary-general for 32 years.
On September 27, 2024, his life ended in the midst of the same confrontation he had chosen to enter nearly a year earlier in support of Gaza. The ‘Support Front’ thus went from being his last major decision to becoming the most prominent and significant chapter of his political and military career.”

September Across History: Palestinian Operations
Over the decades, the month of September has seen notable operations, both internal and external, carried out by the Palestinian Resistance to bring Palestine’s liberation to the forefront of global conversation, materially harm Zionist networks, and free comrades imprisoned in Zionist dungeons.
Palestinians in their homeland risk incarceration and sacrifice themselves to become martyrs of their struggle for liberation and return. At the same time, many of those carrying out these September operations were Palestinians in exile, from Jordan to Germany as the factions and organizations saw the revolutionary capacity, determination, and duty of Palestinians in the shatat/diaspora to take their rightful place in the struggle.
Join us as we commemorate the sacrifice of the martyrs and the explore the utility of operations.

On Monday, 28 September, the Zionist occupation extended the "administrative detention," arbitrary imprisonment without charge or trial, of An-Najah University engineering student Omar al-Ashqar.
He has already been arbitrarily imprisoned for the past 12 months. There are over 3,600 Palestinian prisoners — out of a total of approximately 9,300 — jailed with no charge and no trial under arbitrary administrative detention, which can be indefinitely renewed in blocks of up to six months at a time. Many Palestinian prisoners, like Omar, are jailed for years under repeatedly renewed detention orders.

NOW ON SUBSTACK: "Why Tufan?" by scholar Mujamma Haraket on the third anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
■ Most accounts of October 7th overlook the men who actually planned it. Only Muhammad al-Deif, Mahmoud Musa Issa and Yahya al-Sinwar knew the details in advance, and each had spent years in the occupation's prisons and working on prisoner exchanges.
■ Our new piece traces four decades of Palestinian capture-for-exchange operations and argues that the prisoners' file, more than any other factor, explains how and why Tufan al-Aqsa happened: vocalpolitics.substack.com/p/why-tufan
