In the southeastern part of Great Britain, within Kent County, a stretch of white cliffs borders the Strait of Dover. Extending east and west from the historic port city of Dover, these cliffs have served as a reliable landmark for centuries, guiding ships navigating to the United Kingdom.
The island of Iturup is also famous for its white cliffs. Located near the village of Rejdovo, they are just twenty kilometers along a trail from Rejdovo to the White Cliffs and Windy Isthmus. Composed of pumice and volcanic glass, these rocks are easily crumbled in the hand. During rains, streams of white water carve intricate patterns into their surfaces, creating a mesmerizing natural spectacle.

As a result of wave erosion the massif of volcanic rocks has gradually become eroded, so the cape presents picturesque steep cliffs up to 50 metres high, which are protrude into the Kunashirsky Strait several locations. The rocks are ablating, forming stone "pillarsβ at the foot of the scree.
