🔹 Beginning of the Events
• On March 7, 8, and 9, heavily armed factions (al-Amshat, al-Hamzat, and others) entered under the pretext of “search and clearance operations for weapons and regime remnants.”
• It soon became clear this was a false pretext, as their first inquiries were about gold, money, and mobile phones—followed by questions about the household’s sect and whether there were soldiers or weapons present.

🔹 Martyrs and Arrests
• Many were martyred, most notably Sheikh Shaaban Mansour and his son, who were brutally executed and thrown onto the road.
• Estimated total number of martyrs: around 100.
• Number of detainees: more than 1,000 people were arrested and transferred in groups from Salhab and its surrounding villages (Nahr al-Barid, al-Mazhal, al-Tawba, Deir Shmail, al-Saqiliyya, Jubb Ramleh, Asila, al-Safsafiya, Arza, al-Aziziya, al-Tuwim).
• Forced displacement was carried out in several villages, including Arza, al-Aziziya, Kawkab, Ma’an, and others.

🔹 Conditions of the Forcibly Displaced
• Some displaced families managed to rent homes if they could afford it.
• The majority live in tents near Alawite shrines, relying solely on community donations.
• There is an urgent need for food and medical aid. With winter approaching, families must either be enabled to return to their homes or provided with alternative housing.

🔹 Religious and Cultural Violations
• Shrines, cemeteries, and martyr memorials were burned and desecrated.
• Christian churches were vandalized, including the burning of a Christmas tree in al-Suqaylibiya.

🔹 Looting and Armed Robbery
• Despite assurances, looting continues.
• Farms and remote houses were targeted, as well as secondary roads (money, phones, cars, motorcycles).
• These acts were accompanied by sectarian insults such as: “You Alawites are pigs.”
• Civilians reported harassment and humiliation at checkpoints.

🔹 Kidnappings
• Businessmen were kidnapped for ransom; those who could not pay were executed.
• Several women were abducted (most recently Rawan Mahfoud Asaad, who was kidnapped and raped near Salhab–Hourat Amourin).
• Names of perpetrators and gangs were published, yet no accountability took place since the perpetrators themselves are elements of the de facto authority led by al-Jolani.

🔹 Identity of Perpetrators
• The majority belonged to the Ministry of Defense, including al-Amshat, al-Hamzat, Jaysh al-Izza, and the General Security apparatus (Ministry of Interior).
• Some were from surrounding Bedouin villages: al-Asharneh, al-Treimsa, al-Jalmeh, Qalaat al-Madiq, Karnaz, Hayaleen, and others.

🔹 Pillage and Theft
• Nothing of value was spared: women’s gold, money, phones.
• Shops (groceries, feed, hardware, pharmacies), cars, motorcycles, tractors, solar panels, batteries, inverters, artesian well pumps, and livestock (cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys) were stolen. Even puppies were taken.
• Farms and poultry houses were looted after doors and windows were smashed, and some abandoned homes were burned.

🔹 General Situation of the Population
• Residents live in constant fear and anxiety. Armed vehicles or flying checkpoints roam villages, leading to shootings and thefts without accountability.
• There is an urgent need for food and medical assistance, as many poor families and patients have no income.
• Civilian employees were dismissed from their jobs, soldiers were discharged without compensation and expelled from their homes, and displaced persons arrived from neighboring villages.
• Large areas of farmland were abandoned either due to distance from homes or Bedouin grazing. Traditional work such as collecting laurel and firewood ceased after forests and woodlands were burned.

🔹 Demands
• Security and safety.
• Accountability for the perpetrators.
• Urgent food and medical aid.
• Reinstatement of dismissed employees.
• Release of kidnapped and detained persons.

Testimony of a Survivor of the Massacre:

The peaceful, unarmed civilians were taken by surprise by a brutal terrorist attack carried out by elements of the Public Security and Ministry of Defense under the de facto authority, which claimed it came to “settle disputes.” In reality, they were the very terrorists who perpetrated the massacres.

They opened fire on unarmed men, women, and children, wiping out entire families in the streets. Tanks stormed the narrow alleys, crushing cars under their tracks, firing bullets and shells indiscriminately at houses, and setting homes ablaze. Meanwhile, snipers spread across rooftops, targeting anyone who appeared at a window or balcony.

Some families were dragged out of their homes and executed in the streets, while others were slaughtered with knives from behind as a form of torture.

One incident recounted by survivors described a man, his wife, and their child being stopped, forced to run, and then shot dead on the spot. Another case involved an unarmed young man who was in his car—he was sniped, then run over by a tank, and later buried in the square.

In this neighborhood alone, more than 15–20 martyrs—children, women, men, and elderly civilians—were taken from their homes and killed.

⚠️ Mr. Bayan Al-Qantar, a long-term resident of the Al-Khuder Residential Area in Dama for over 20 years, recounts in detail the bloody attack that struck As-Suwayda at 7:00 a.m., following the incursion of the s “General Security” and “Ministry of Defense” Jihadists forces of the de facto authorities, accompanied by allied tribal militias.

They stormed in with unspeakable brutality. Al-Qantar states:

“I saw the tank in front of my house firing shells at unarmed civilians’ homes, deliberately targeting the supporting pillars so the buildings would collapse. The destruction was evident. My wife, children, grandchildren, and I were captured. On the way, we saw the tank run over a young man in his car twice, near the Beit Al-Sha’ar area — he was killed instantly. Everything happened in full view of the children, who lived through moments of terror that will never be erased from their memory. We were taken to a large hall belonging to the Gharaibeh Aldeen family, where we remained until 4:30 p.m.”

The residents were rounded up, subjected to sectarian insults, humiliated, and forced to trample on the national flag. In Dama, not a single household was spared: every home was either burned, looted, or destroyed with mortars and shells. The town has been left completely empty of its inhabitants.
