بدلًا من إصدار فتاوى تحرّم سفك الدماء وتجرّم الاقتتال الطائفي، رُصد قيام عدد من شيوخ دمشق ذوي التوجه الجهادي المتشدد، الموالين لسلطة الأمر الواقع، بإطلاق دعوات علنية للجهاد الطائفي ضد أبناء الطائفة الدرزية في السويداء.
