Good morning,
I hope you had a restful weekend. I am looking at just one FX pair today. I have an idea that there is a pattern completing in GBP AUD around 1.7900. There I would like to short it. However, I want to be long until it gets there.
So here goes.
GBP AUD
ORDER 1 = BUYING GBP AUD in 50% immediately at 1.7815 (which is where it is now)
STOP LOSS = 1.7750
ORDER 2 = LONG AT 1.7850 50% with stop at 1.7800 on both
ORDER 3 = LONG AT 1.7875 50% with stop loss at 1.7825 on ALL
PROFIT TAKING AT 1.7900
As I am sending this, GBP AUD is now trading at 1.7819 mid-price.
I will update you as orders get filled.
Have a nice day and stay strong. ❤️

A LIFE BY DESIGN
I remember a story about a famous trading educator that disturbed me, and when I asked him about it, he confirmed it. He was asked to do a drug test, and knowing that he had taken cocaine, his ex-wife asked for a hair sample. So, he found out that if you rustle the hair sample in silver foil, it impacts the drug test. He thought it was funny that he had to pay a doctor £10,000 to fake the test.
Then I was once called by him when he was drunk or high, saying "hey baldie, come out and score some pussy with us"... I hung up and thought to myself "grow up". What troubles me the most if how leads people down the garden path, paying through the nose for something that is unusable. Shameless. But I am not going to say his name. I imagine you know who he is.
I was attending a Tony Robbins event in 2006. As I stood there, with 10,000 other rowdy souls, I had a kind of an out of body experience, and I saw Tony Robbins and the aforementioned educator in the same light, and I saw the 9,999 people as entirely hypnotized by a soul, who promised instant change. And I asked myself "is this how change start?"
It occurred to me that they (Tony and the attending) had it the wrong way around. They celebrated how they were going to change. They celebrated how their lives were going to change for the better. They shouted in amazement how wealthy they were going to get. They had the victory before the work had been carried out. They felt good before they were meant to feel good. I wrote a long blog piece about it a long time ago. It is lost now, but it goes a little like this.
There is an inherent “time” problem with self-help gurus. I see it in our trading industry. If you can’t promise change in a person within a very short time frame, you are not going to sell your product. Change has to be instant to sell – even though it is bullshit.
Course headlines like “Become a millionaire trader by attending our weekend workshop” or “How to cure depression instantly” are catchy, and they sell. I accuse them of promoting a short-cut ideology, where success is somehow achievable through hacks and cheap gimmicks.
There is simply no amount of chanting that made Roger Federer into who he is. Chanting “Now I am the voice, I am a force for good, I will lead and not follow” will not make you good at anything. You might get psyched up, and you might be flooded with feel-good hormones such as Dopamine and its child adrenaline, but they will wear off, and that is when your true self emerges. If you don’t have a compelling argument for change, your commitment will falter like a New Year’s resolution on the 2nd or 3rd of January. I tell my son that a compelling argument is that thing that will propel you forward long after your enthusiasm has worn out.
The Change Process
The decision to change can be instant, but change itself is a marathon, success is a marathon, achievements are a marathon, and anyone who has truly achieved success in life has treated their goals as such. I find documentaries much more inspiring than attending hyped up mega-events featuring toothpaste smiling gurus. I want to think for myself, and I want to achieve my goals by stealth, not by making big arm movements. I want to impact through walking first. I want to create change by leading by example, not by talking about it.
When I got divorced, I drank too much. I joined the AA, because I was scared, I couldn’t stop. Well, I couldn’t. AA didn’t help me, but they provided contrast. There is always someone who is better off or worse off than you. It is pointless to compare yourself to either. The former will make you miserable and the latter will make you feel good about yourself – but to what end? I am an alcoholic, but I am not as bad as the guy sitting next to me. That is a twisted argument. So, I set out for my own answer, which is damn hard work, when you are alone. I have not drunk for more than 7 years – not a drop. And I know I never will. I am simply so brainwashed against it, through my own work.

And I used that for a force of good – which I will give Tony Robbins credit to that he wants to be a force for good and I do believe he means well. So now I do what I can. I lead by example, doing the opposite to every other trading guru out there. I live what I preach, and I show my followers, all 18,000, every single day. When I win, I get no thank you’s. When I lose, I get slated on bulletin boards. Such is human nature, but I remind myself of the poem The Man in the Arena. It is just the way it is.
I have been told by many that I am too open. I hope you understand that there is no agenda. I am preparing a speech for Friday over by St Pauls for the IX show. The organisers have welcomed you to attend for free, should you wish.
I am currently exploring the comfort zone complacency. Are you pushing or are you cruising? And here I am, a middle-aged man, pushing and pushing, because I don’t really feel alive unless I am.
A life by Design – right?

I have been stopped out of BOTH positions at 1.7915 (the placement of the second stop - and the 1st stop)...
It is a good recovery of GBP AUD. I was plus 60 and plus 14. Perhaps I should have moved stop loss closer.
LOSS in total 100% = MINUS 44
Annoyed I didn't move stop loss.!!!
