I hope this goes without saying: This is why we invented sandboxing and code signing!! So malware doesn't modify mission-critical software!!! The LLM is malware in this scenario and must be treated as such! Any program can accidentally become malware. Even…
Still can’t believe anyone is giving carte blanche of their personal machines to any AI agent

Swift 6.4 is the Snow Leopard of Swift releases!
Non-copyable types can now conform to Equatable, Comparable, and Hashable. RigidArray and UniqueArray give you fixed and growable buffers with none of Array's copy-on-write overhead. You can borrow through a Span or InlineArray with a plain property instead of writing around it.
And on top of that: Subprocess reaching 1.0, SwiftPM defaulting to Swift Build across Linux, macOS, & Windows, and C++20's std::span bridging straight to Span with zero manual conversion at the boundary! Swift continues on its goal of being a true systems language that happens to also build your iOS app.
19 years writing Swift, and this is still a release I’m happy to read cover to cover.

Don’t update to macOS 27 Golden Gate.
It’s vibe coded and it sucks.
Tons of shit isn’t working at all, like minimized windows or the emoji picker.
Avoid this update for as long as you can. It’s bad.

“We mustn’t delay 27.1β; our new phone was just announced and 27.1 will have support for it! Instead, the sensible thing is to release 27.2β first, THEN 27.1β with more features than 27.2β, and make 27.2β not support the new phone. Also the new phone isn't in stores for another month"

The speakers won't change from 0% volume, the menu bar isn't showing some apps, the Notifications froze and are now stuck on my screen, and fucking Mail isn't rendering the body of emails!
macOS 27.0 is somehow still in Beta despite being the public stable release. Tons of shit is broken which has been rock-solid for decades.

Like I'm sorry that my only posts in this channel for the past few days is how bad macOS 27.0 is, but my gosh it is stopping me from doing the basics of work

In the Beta versions of Telegram for iOS and macOS, a new MTProtoRustEngine has appeared — a network engine implementation in Rust that is gradually replacing MTProtoKit.
MTProtoKit is Telegram's old network stack for Apple platforms. It has been developed for more than 10 years and is built with C, Objective-C, and C++. Public references to MtProtoKit for iOS and OS X date back to 2014.
Telegram is now gradually moving this part of its Apple clients to Rust. The new engine already has its own network sessions, request handling, buffers, data center communication, and a separate layer for interaction between Rust and Swift. The old code isn't going anywhere yet. Both engines are present in the client at the same time — MTProtoKit and Rust. Switching between them is handled by SwitchingNetworkEngine: if the new engine can't continue working, unfinished requests can be passed back to the old one.
There are also conditions under which the Rust engine isn't used, including Web Proxy, custom data center addresses, and certain app extensions. In these cases, Telegram continues using the old MTProtoKit.
Telegram has also added the mtproto_engine_rust_disabled configuration, which allows the server to forcibly disable the Rust engine. Together with the fallback to MTProtoKit, this allows Telegram to gradually move clients to the new stack and return to the old implementation when needed — without releasing a new client version.
