I can't wait until the OWASP Top 10 includes giving LLMs too much blind control
Hey anyone who has refused to keep up with AI stuff out of moral grounds:
This shit is bringing about a thriving FOSS ecosystem. Even the big megacorps are putting out shit where you can create/download your own local models and connect them into the big corporate products, fully locally without an internet connection.
No vendor lockin! The freedom of an open tech stack is once again within tasting distance!
You don't have to use these tools, but you can look to these big players and say things like "hey could you let me just use my own [whatever] here, just like you let folks use their own LLM in your other products?"
AND THEY MIGHT LISTEN NOW because they're momentarily seeing the value of openness

This is an incredibly useful research piece! Anyone designing a programming language/SDK/API should read this

The worst possible situation is to have a non-programmer vibe code a large project that they intend to maintain. This would be the equivalent of giving a credit card to a child without first explaining the concept of debt.
[Keep] a very tight leash on this new over-eager junior intern savant with encyclopedic knowledge of software, but who also bullshits you all the time, has an over-abundance of courage and shows little to no taste for good code.

Code that nobody understands is tech debt
Go is the Javascript of compiled performant languages

Google will require developer verification to install Android apps, including sideloading
Google has announced that only apps from developers that have undergone verification can be installed on certified Android devices in 2026...

End of an era, folks.

With developer verification, I'm struggling to think of Android as a proper smartphone platform
By requiring mandatory developer verification, Google is turning Android into another iOS-like walled garden.
