During the last hours Russian troops reached the first houses of Syn'kivka/Синьківка. Nevertheless, Ukrainian Army repelled the attack.

Situation north of Bakhmut: During the last hours Russian Army took control over the village of Khromove/Хромове after Ukrainian Army retreated to the northern trenches along the road towards Chasiv Yar/Часів Яр.

The latest advances in northern Bakhmut are yet another manifestation of the attrition suffered by Ukrainian troops in the summer months. Since May the Ukrainian army employed reserves to recapture Bakhmut and positions taken by Russia since the beginning of 2023. Reserves that would have been useful for the Zaporizhia front. However, territorial advances materialized between June and August, but at a high cost for Ukraine, which could not advance beyond the railway tracks.
After this offensive the Russian army has gone on the offensive in northern Bakhmut and during the month of November not only recovered 80% of the territory lost after the previous advance of the Wagner forces, but also managed to capture the locality of Khromove, which was left in a no man's zone to be later reoccupied by the Ukrainian forces.
The initial goal of the Russian command seems to be the expansion of the buffer zone around Bakhmut which had to be interrupted after the start of the Ukrainian offensive in summer. Undoubtedly the advances are going to be costly given the fortifications around Chasiv Yar, which is intermittently shelled by Russia and will be a future objective of theirs that would pave the way to Kramatorsk. It is also important to add that these offensive actions are aimed at diverting Ukrainian reinforcements destined for Avdivka, which is the Russian priority target.

Situation south of Avdivka: Recent video footage shows Russian Army attacking Ukrainian troops in the last dacha out of its control (48°06'45.7"N 37°47'06.0"E) in the southern part of the city. This is the last defensive position of the Ukrainian Army before the urban area in this axis.

Situation north of Avdivka: Heavy clashes are taking place around treatment facilities, which is now contested. Moreover, Russian attacks towards Coke Plant were repelled by Ukrainian Army.

During the last hours there have been minimal Russian advances in Marinka. However, there is nothing certain of a breakthrough of the front. In fact it is highly unlikely that this can happen in the short term, the locality has become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance, for after a year and a half of fighting Russian forces have still not established effective control over it. The only possibility of ending this battle will be either by Ukrainian withdrawal from its positions or by the opening of secondary fronts by the Russian troops that prevent the Ukrainian army from maintaining the defenses on this axis. For now it does not seem to be a Russian priority and the Ukrainians do not seem to have problems to maintain the positions.

A similar case occurs with Krynky on the eastern bank of the Dnieper. There is no certainty of a Ukrainian withdrawal from this locality, even in spite of the Russian bombardments the rotations continue to take place allowing to maintain the bridgehead. However, the situation remains stagnant and the inability of both sides to change the situation is producing a large number of casualties.

At the end seems Ukrainian Army is withdrawing from Marinka (Possibility 1 won over the 2)...

Why wasn't Marinka's full capture discussed? The capture of the southwestern part of the city marks the end of the heavy fighting we have witnessed in these 646 days of fighting. However, it is still too early to say that the battle for Heorhiivka/Георгіївка is about to begin, in fact, there are still 1300 meters to reach the dam, which marks the boundary of the township, 1300 meters that will still be costly for attacker and defender advancing over the ruins of what once became a town and which is now engulfed by snow.
But even when the town falls under complete Russian control, it will not mean an acceleration of advances in the region. Winter is about to arrive and with it the reduction of operational capabilities on the front. Possible actions of the Russian army will be the extension of the zone of control around the locality by approaching Krasnogorrivka/Красногорорівка from the south and Pobjeda/Побєда from the north by taking the heights overlooking the village of Kostyantynivka/Костянтинівка.
