Between yesterday and today, crowds of protesters of all religious denominations have gathered in the Lebanese capital to protest the parallel negotiations that the government and Israel are conducting for the normalization and demilitarization of the country. Meanwhile, the Lebanese army and security forces are deploying to prevent further incidents, far from the front lines where Hezbollah continues to resist the Israeli advance.

The battle for Bint Jbeil has begun. 🇱🇧 🇮🇱
Ignoring the negotiations in Islamabad, Israel continued its bombing campaign in southern Lebanon (where white phosphorus has been used against civilians in the village of Tiri) and began advancing from Hanine toward Bint Jbeil, bypassing Ain Ebel and entering the key town from the west while continuing to apply pressure from the east. The town of Bint Jbeil is considered Hezbollah’s capital in the south; symbolic for not having been taken by Israel during the 2006 war, it now risks falling into Israeli hands in the coming days. Hezbollah is putting up strong resistance to prevent a rapid fall, inflicting significant casualties on Israeli forces.
