U.S.-Iran peace negotiations in Islamabad have begun. 🇺🇸 🇵🇰 🇮🇷

The U.S. delegation (led by JD Vance) & the Iranian delegation (led by Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf & Abbas Araghchi) will be staying & meeting at the Serena Hotel amid a massive security presence.

The Iranian delegation presented their red lines to the Pakistani mediators:

1. Full Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz.
2. Payment of war reparations.
3. The release of frozen Iranian assets.
4. A stable & genuine ceasefire in all areas relevant to Iran.

Meanwhile, the U.S. delegation imposed the following conditions:

1. A complete end to uranium enrichment on Iranian soil
2. Surrender or elimination of highly enriched uranium reserves
3. A pledge not to develop nuclear weapons and verifiable restrictions on the entire nuclear program.
4. Complete & unrestricted reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without Iranian control or restrictive tolls.
5. Limitations on the ballistic missile program & reduction/cessation of support for regional proxies.

While U.S. and Iranian delegations negotiate in Islamabad, Israel has continued its routine bombings of Lebanese towns and civilians, causing further casualties, including deaths and injuries. Once again, it has failed to respect the agreed-upon ceasefire. 🇮🇱🇱🇧

Between yesterday and today, crowds of protesters of all religious denominations have gathered in the Lebanese capital to protest the parallel negotiations that the government and Israel are conducting for the normalization and demilitarization of the country.
