Situation South of Kordofan front: A month after the siege of Dilling was lifted (in late January), the SAF suffered another setback in March. Early in the month, the joint SPLM/RSF force captured Takmah and imposed a new siege on Dilling. Since then, the RSF has continued to regain previously lost ground, moving closer once again to the border with North Kordofan State.

Bezalel Yoel Smotrich, Israel’s finance minister, has once again introduced the concept of “Greater Israel” into his speeches, referring to the annexation of Palestinian territories, the expansion of occupied Syrian territory, and now the area south of the Litani River in Lebanon, which has been designated as an operational zone, but which is being proposed as new Israeli-occupied territory within what has been termed “Greater Israel”—a biblical concept of a supposed state stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates, granted by divine intervention to the Israelites (not Israelis), and which has been reclaimed by Israeli nationalism to justify its territorial expansion at the expense of other countries.
In realistic terms, the configuration of a Greater Israel aligns with the boundaries mentioned by Smotrich, as it is a territory where the subjugation or extermination of the local population is feasible, followed by Israeli colonization, given the country’s demographic weight. 🇮🇱
