A prophetic supplication to say at difficult times.
يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
Whenever a matter would distress him, the Prophet (ﷺ) would say: ‘O Ever Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief (Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth).’” Sahih Tirmidhi (no. 3524)

The Role of Sound and False Beliefs on Actions
Ibn al-Qayyim- رحمه الله - said:
إن الأعمال الصالحة والفاسدة نتائج الإعتقادات الصحيحة والباطلة
"Indeed, the righteous and corrupt actions are the results of sound and false beliefs [respectively]..."
Al-Sawāʿiq al-Mursalah (Dār al-ʿĀṣimah, 1998) 3/1117.
Underlying beliefs create perceptions and those perceptions guide actions. Thus, the Khārijite believes that sin entails disbelief, and when he sees sin in society, he hates the society and raises his sword against it. The Murjiʾ believes that sin does not harm faith, so he engrosses himself in sin. The Jahmī does not believe in Allāh’s love, pleasure and mercy, so he is not led to seek it, and instead wallows in sin, because faith is mere acquaintance in the heart and nothing more. and so on. Likewise, atheism, materialism, socialism and all beliefs and ideologies, they shape perception (of the world and what takes place therein) and guide actions. So righteous actions are the results of sound beliefs and corrupt actions are the results of corrupt belief, and therefore, the world is rectified by sound beliefs and corrupted by false beliefs.

EVERYDAY ITS MOTHER'S DAY!
The mother (due to her status in Islam) is far more deserving than to be honored for one day in the year. Rather, the mother has a right upon her children to maintain her, honor her, and take care of her always. So there is not one day for her as there is with the enemies of Islam; rather, every day is for her.

Choosing a Husband
What every muslimah should look for in a prospective husband.
Question: What are the most important matters which should form the basis for a woman to choose a husband, and does refusing a righteous person for worldly reasons bring Allāh’s punishment upon her?
Answer: The most important attributes which a woman should seek in one proposing marriage are good character and Dīn (Practice of the Religion). As regards wealth and lineage, then these are secondary matters. The most important thing is that the one proposing the marriage should be good in the Dīn and in his character – since regarding one possessing Dīn and good character, she will not lose out in any respect: if he keeps her, then he will do so in a good manner and if he releases her, he will do so in a good manner. Furthermore, the one possessing Dīn and good character will be a blessing for her and her children and she will learn good manners and the Dīn from him.
But if the person is one who does not have these attributes then she should avoid him – especially those who are negligent about the prayers, or one who is known to drink intoxicants – and Allāh’s refuge is sought… So what is important is that the woman should concentrate on the good character and practice of the Dīn. As regards lineage, then if it is attainable additionally, then that is more fitting since Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: If there comes to you one whose Dīn and character is pleasing then give [the woman] in marriage to him
However, if one who is also similar in standing is found then that is better.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751 AH رحمه الله) said:
“How can one be safe who has a wife that shows him no mercy, a child who makes no excuse for him, a neighbor he cannot trust, a friend who does not advise him sincerely, a partner who is unjust to him, an enemy who does not relent in his enmity, a soul that constantly inclines toward evil, and a world adorned in allure? — One who has destructive desire, overwhelming lust, overpowering anger, a devil who adorns evil, and a weakness that overtakes him?
If Allah takes him under His care and draws him near, then all of these are subdued for him. But if Allah forsakes him and leaves him to his own self, they all gather against him, leading to his ruin.”
