We’re excited to announce the launch of the SubSource API, built to help you integrate our subtitle platform with your own websites and programs. Whether you're building custom tools or syncing SubSource with your platform — the power is now in your hands.
To gain access, simply head over to our Tickets page and submit a ticket with the subject line “API Application” — once approved, you’ll receive your personalized API key.
For a full breakdown of the API’s capabilities, endpoints, and usage instructions, be sure to visit our API Documentation page. If you need any other endpoints to be added to our API service, feel free to share it with us and we will try our best to fulfill your needs.
This is a major step forward for our developer community, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll build.

Since the day SubSource was founded, our mission has been clear: to create a place where subtitle creators, translators, and film enthusiasts from every corner of the world can share their work, connect through language, and make stories more accessible to everyone.
Since then, we have received around 20,000 copyright claims. After careful and fair review, only about 70 were found to be valid and removed. The rest were baseless. They were attempts to silence creativity, not protect it.
We want to make something absolutely clear. We will never prioritize the convenience of compliance over the principle of fairness. We will never choose the easy path of submission over the right path of standing by our users. To do so would be betrayal. And we do not betray those who built us.
Our users are the heart of SubSource. You are the translators, the creators, the storytellers. You are the reason this community exists. Every subtitle shared represents time, effort, and love for film. That matters to us. Deeply.
To the bad-faith actors, such as R.Y.M LLC (abbreviated), who target us and our service providers, who respond to professional communication with insults like “you are thieves and should be arrested,” we say this: you will not break us. You can send threats. You can send thousands of false claims. You can pressure our partners. But you cannot stop a community that stands together.
These have shown that they do not care about art, access, or fairness. They care only about control. They act without proof, without professionalism, and without respect for those who build something genuine.
We are not afraid of them. We never were.
Every attack only strengthens our resolve. Every takedown request without merit reminds us why SubSource matters.
We will keep defending your right to share your work. We will keep fighting for fairness and truth. We will keep SubSource alive.
They have not succeeded so far. They will not succeed tomorrow. They will never succeed.
