CAVE TEMPLE OF COLD

Can you believe the scorching heat of 55 degrees outside a temple making it difficult to stand even for 5 minutes? And as soon as you enter the temple, you feel as if you have come to a cool hill in the Himalayas.

Titlagarh area of Orissa is Considered a very hot area. There is a Kumhada Pahad established here on which a wonderful Shiva temple is established. There is a belief about the temple that the summer season has no effect on the temple, this place is considered cooler than AC.

The surprising thing is that due to the intense heat here, it is difficult for the devotees to stand even for 5 minutes outside the temple premises. But when we step inside the temple, we start feeling colder winds than AC.

However, this atmosphere lasts only till the temple premises. As soon as we come out, the intense heat starts troubling us. Till date no one has been able to know what is the secret behind this.

The priests say that many times they have to cover themselves with blankets to protect themselves from the cold inside the temple premises at night.

1. The entry and exit gates of the temple are with the flow of air.

2. And the roof is a cave. It is made by digging natural rock. A permanent water stream keeps flowing even over the rock. A few drops of this water fall inside near the Shiv Lingam and the rest of the water goes outside through another path. This is a part of a mountain.

The entire temple is actually a cave. Which has been carved very minutely and given the shape of a temple.
