great sitkin (great-sitkin/news.html) (Watch / Aviation ORANGE) produced slow lava effusion in the summit crater, with rockfalls from the growing dome and slightly elevated surface temperatures in satellite data.
kilauea (kilauea/news.html) and shishaldin (shishaldin/news.html) (both Advisory / Aviation YELLOW) showed a pause with steady glow and 29 small summit quakes at Kilauea, and SO2 degassing at Shishaldin.
Indonesia
At Halmahera, ibu (ibu/news.html) and dukono (dukono/news.html) generated frequent explosions, sending ash to 800–1,400 m above their vents.
Farther west, semeru (semeru/news.html) recorded 60 explosions with ash to 1,200 m and a seismically detected pyroclastic flow, while merapi (merapi/news.html) produced hot avalanches up to 2 km and numerous rockfalls. Volcanic seismicity was recorded 22 times. Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions averaged 2,975 tonnes per day on 4 May. The alert level remained at "2 - Moderate Level of Volcanic Unrest" (on a 0–5 level scale). Activity also included: inflationary deformation, tremor, volcanic seismicity.
