This weekend, the federal ministries open their doors to present themselves and their great work.
We cannot let the hypocritical image of the ministries stand.
Germany is the biggest polluter of CO2 in Europe, but does not take any responsibility for the consequences that this entails. Every day thousands of people have to flee because their homes are flooded, too dry or destroyed. However, the Ministry of the Interior does NOT recognize the climate crisis, for which Germany is largely responsible, as a reason to flee and thus does not accept any refugees who come to Germany for these reasons.
Our demand: Open doors - Open borders! Recognize climate crisis as reason for asylum!
Come with us on 20.08. at 13 o'clock to the Ministry of the Interior to protest against the climate and asylum policies.

Information and networking meeting
Dear committed people,
The national alliance "Prevent deportation prison - in Düsseldorf and everywhere" has been active for one and a half years now. We want to prevent another deportation prison from being built in Düsseldorf for North Rhine-Westphalia. Detention pending deportation is a deprivation of liberty solely for the purpose of later deportation and a massive violation of human rights.
We therefore invite all interested parties to attend the meeting:
When? Saturday, 09.09.2023, 1 to 5 p.m.
Where? zakk, Fichtenstr. 40, 40233 Düsseldorf, Germany
The meeting is explicitly aimed at all those who have had nothing to do with the issue so far, but who think the construction of a deportation prison in Düsseldorf is wrong and want to get involved against it, or who simply want to get to know our alliance. We want to report on the current state of planning and exchange ideas on what we as a critical civil society can do to oppose it.
Participation is possible spontaneously. If you already know that you are coming, we would be grateful for registrations to info@abschiebegefaengnis-verhindern.de for better planning.

Background:
The supra-regional alliance "Prevent Deportation Prison - In Düsseldorf and Everywhere" was founded after the building project for a deportation prison in Düsseldorf became known at the beginning of 2022 in order to protest against it and to bring the project to public attention. The alliance includes 14 local and national initiatives, groups and associations. 20 other initiatives and associations have signed the joint alliance paper.
There is still uncertainty about the plans for the deportation prison (see https://abschiebegefaengnis-verhindern.de/2023/ein-jahr-schwarz-gruene-landesregierung-weiter-keine-klarheit-ueber-bau-eines-abschiebegefaengnisses-in-duesseldorf/). The old state government of CDU and FDP had considered this project, the new government of CDU and Greens is largely silent on the issue.
We are therefore continuing our efforts to bring the planning processes to the light of day and are campaigning against a deportation detention centre with actions, research and networking.

On the 15th of September, an imperative event awaits us: the Global Climate Strike.
We are embracing an Alliance for Anti-Colonial Climate Justice - because there is no other way to fight this crisis!
We need to acknowledge colonialism and capitalism as principal catalysts of climate crisis.
In our collective consciousness, we recognize that the climate movement in Germany is fraught with issues of dominance, exclusivity, and Eurocentrism. The crux of this matter is that the communities most severely impacted by climate disruption hail from the Global South, as evidenced in the MAPA (Most Affected People and Areas). While global warming and climate change may appear as recent concerns in the Global North, those residing in the Global South have endured over five centuries of resource exploitation, land degradation through toxic industries, and weapon exports.
There will be no Climate Justice without Migrant Justice
Europe, through its role in fostering conflicts, perpetuating injustices, encouraging arms trade, dictating EU policies, influencing living standards, upholding white supremacy, and sustaining colonial legacies, has compelled countless individuals to flee their homelands. Yet, those who reach the Western shores find themselves subjected to unequal treatment, encountering violations of their rights, and facing militarized European borders that have resulted in loss of life. Furthermore, upon arrival, they are often relegated to isolation in camps and denied their fundamental human rights and needs.
Fighting the climate crisis is a joint struggle for social justice
We must acknowledge that climate justice cannot exist without social justice, and social justice cannot exist without racial justice. The enduring struggles of the Global South demand boundless and unwavering solidarity. When we champion climate justice, it is imperative that we incorporate the perspectives of communities that have suffered for centuries under the yoke of colonialism and racist capitalism. We must unite against exploitation, oppression, and discrimination in all their manifestations, transcending borders and industries to foster a global movement for social, racial, and climate justice.
Our motto is clear: "Nothing about us without us."
We emphatically reject collaboration racist and neo-colonial structures.
As advocates for Climate Justice, we seek unity with our fellow activists and communities both locally and across the Global South. We do not longer want to expend our energy, time, and resources in hostile collaboration with prejudiced groups and movements. We say no to disillusionment and tokenization within western-dominated structures.

In light of this, we, as an anti-colonial collective, extend a resounding call for an Anti-Colonial Climate Strike on the 15th of September 2023 in Berlin. We cordially invite all groups, organizations, collectives, and individuals who are dedicated to dismantling borders, combating police brutality, resisting militarization, challenging the prison-industrial complex, dismantling patriarchy, and dismantling capitalism to organize and join us on the streets in solidarity for an Anti-Colonial Climate Justice protest alongside our siblings and communities in the global majority. This is an intersectional global struggle; its facets are interconnected.
Abolish Frontex, bring down the walls of fortress and lets break the borders between us for a free Palestine, Kurdistan, Sudan, Abyala, Balochistan, Western Sahara and libration in the rest of the world.
Let us always keep in mind: "The people united will never ever be defeated."

Kollektive wissen wir, dass die Klima - und Umweltbewegung in Deutschland mit Dominanz, Exklusivität und Eurozentrismus behaftet ist. Dabei sind diejenigen, die am stärksten vom Klimawandel betroffenen Gruppen und Gebiete (im globalen Süden), auch diejenigen, die innerhalb der Klima- und Umweltbewegung in Deutschland Leid erfahren. Während die globale Erdwärmung und der Klimawandel für den Globalen Norden "neue Probleme" zu scheinen mögen, haben Menschen im Globalen Süden mehr als fünf Jahrhunderte der Ressourcenausbeutung, der Landdegradierung durch toxische Industrien und durch Waffenexporte ertragen.
Es wird keine Klimagerechtigkeit ohne Migrantengerechtigkeit geben
Europa hat durch seine Rolle bei der Förderung von Konflikten, der Aufrechterhaltung von Ungerechtigkeiten, der Förderung des Waffenhandels, dem Diktat der EU-Politik, der Beeinflussung des Lebensstandards, der Aufrechterhaltung weißer Vorherrschaft und des kolonialen Erbes unzählige Menschen gezwungen, aus ihrer Heimat zu fliehen. Diejenigen, die an den westlichen Küsten ankommen, werden ungleich behandelt, sehen sich mit Verletzungen ihrer Rechte und militarisierten europäischen Grenzen konfrontiert, die zu Todesopfern führen. Darüber hinaus werden sie nach ihrer Ankunft oft in Lagern isoliert.

Dies ist ein intersektionaler globaler Kampf, dessen Facetten miteinander verbunden sind.
Schafft Frontex ab, reißt die Festungsmauern ein und lasst uns die Grenzen zwischen uns aufbrechen für ein freies Palästina, Kurdistan, Sudan, Abyala, Belutschistan, West Sahara und eine Befreiung im Rest der Welt.

Wir sagen nein zu Desillusionierung und Tokenfunktion innerhalb westlich dominierter Strukturen.
Wir sind zusammen stark - mit unseren Mitstreiter*innen sowohl auf lokaler Ebene als auch im gesamten Globalen Süden.
Vor diesem Hintergrund rufen wir, als antikoloniales Kollektiv, zu einem antikolonialen Klimastreik am 15. September 2023 in Berlin auf. Wir laden alle Gruppen, Organisationen, Kollektive und Einzelpersonen, die sich dem Abbau von Grenzen, dem Kampf gegen Polizeibrutalität, dem Widerstand gegen Militarisierung, dem Kampf gegen den Gefängnis-Industrie-Komplex, dem Abbau des Patriarchats und dem Abbau des Kapitalismus verschrieben haben, herzlich dazu ein, sich zu organisieren und gemeinsam mit unseren Geschwistern und Gemeinschaften der globalen Mehrheit solidarisch für einen antikolonialen Klimagerechtigkeitsprotest auf die Straße zu gehen. Dies ist ein intersektionaler globaler Kampf, dessen Facetten miteinander verbunden sind.
Schafft Frontex ab, reißt die Festungsmauern ein und lasst uns die Grenzen zwischen uns aufbrechen für ein freies Palästina, Kurdistan, Sudan, Abyala, Belutschistan, West Sahara und eine Befreiung im Rest der Welt.
Lasst uns immer daran denken: "Zusammen und vereint sind wir unbesiegbar."
