The best move here for white is Rfg3, sacrificing the queen to checkmate black's king, which Nakamura couldn't find.

Kramnik explicitly advised David Navara to retract his statements, warning of legal consequences if he did not comply.

In X posts Kramnik wrote, "I kindly request that Mr. Navara retracts his statements accusing me of personal attacks, as they are not true, and instead engage in a constructive dialogue."

He further cautioned, "I sincerely hope that we can resolve this matter amicably; however, if the false accusations and defamation continue, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action to protect my reputation."

Nakamura Wins Louisiana State Championship to Boost Candidates Bid

World No. 2 Hikaru Nakamura scored a perfect 7/7 at the 2025 Louisiana State Championship to notch six of the 22 classical games he needs, along with a rating bump, to qualify for the 2026 Candidates Tournament.

GM Magnus Carlsen won the 2026 TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament after grinding out a trademark classical win over GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus and then beating GM Arjun Erigaisi 2-1 in the blitz tiebreaks.

After this tournament, Carlsen added 1.4 points to his rating, bringing his live rating to 2841.4.
