'Best time to post' AI vs testing your own slots
Every scheduler sells an optimal-time feature. I trusted one for 10 days, then ran my own split test for 10.
Tool's best-time AI
— Pros: instant suggestion, fine as a starting default
— Cons: built on generic platform averages, not your audience; it pushed me to 9am where my niche is dead
Manual slot testing
— Pros: found my real window (7-8pm) worth ~2x the views
— Cons: takes two weeks of disciplined logging
Verdict: use the AI as a placeholder week one (Wait), then test and override (Worth it). Annoying limitation: most tools recompute 'best time' on too little data and keep shifting your slot, so lock it manually once you know.

— Pros: simple, reliable single images, good preview
— Cons: no editor, video to Threads sometimes fails the API silently, no alt-text on Threads yet
Verdict: Publer for any media-heavy Threads account (Worth it, $12/mo). Buffer fine for text-plus-one-image (Worth it at $6). Annoying limitation: the Threads API still rejects videos over its size ceiling without a clear error, so both tools just show 'failed' and you debug blind.
