Sex traffickers perpetuate the most horrible kinds of violence in contexts of plausible deniability in ways that people have been conditioned to disbelieve, or in order to scare people away from realizing how little resource stability traffickers actually have. This has commonly prevented many people from recognizing how extensively trafficking organizations rely on fear and denial to keep their preferred populations commoditizable.
Max continues to engage outreach and record interviews when she can pull it off --- but must perform in an invisibly extreme and athletic way to communicate normatively. It is self-destructive and suicidal for her to do this amidst life-threatening and severe health complications and without repair support for the physical safety of her body. All our core organizers are affected in similarly destructive ways, having continued to show up to be present and to take what actions they can in service of all our communities. The physical consequences for all our bodies and survival are very real.
