affirmative action sounds bad if you assume that college admissions are purely meritocratic, but once you hang out with ivy league kids and realize that over half of them are nepo babies with multi-generation legacy and that their SAT scores barely break 1400, this kind of breaks down. DEI hires are not taking the spots of people who truly deserve it. it’s all luck-based in the end for those of us that aren’t in a prominent family of lawyers and businessmen
