現時為自由球員的根達仍在尋找可「落腳」的新球隊，他坦言自己走的是「一條孤單的路」，因為在運動圈內，所有人都可就世界各地不公義的事件發表意見，「不過若果與中國有關，你就不能發聲，假若你堅持發聲，就需要面對相關後果。」
儘管如此，他指自己如果未有為這些議題發聲，定必無法入眠，「我並不後悔，我想跟你們說，我並不後悔。」
