it's been my experience that there are two ways to make it as a trader in the space: hunting and social climbing.

social climbing means making enough friends that you get invited into t1 alpha groups and it's easy: keep your mouth shut, be friends with everyone, and suck dick until other social climbers invite you to their groups. i'm not in t1 groups, and you can probably see why.

hunting means scouring the blockchain for plays, and it's (a little) tougher. you need to be able to read Etherscan efficiently, competently read solidity, and a bunch of other semi-technical shit.

i used to think that the majority of alpha came from social climbers, now i realize that the top social climbers mostly get their alpha from Etherscan hunters. there's no 'one group' that magically knows of every banger pre-launch. and that's where social climbing falls short. it's impossible to maintain a network wide enough to catch much (unless you're an influencer, maybe)

most of the successful traders i see are hunters. the best hunters know how to spot a social climbing/insidor token, and they spend their time hunting with a couple friends or a group. also, the best groups are very small, and have a blend of hunters, social climbers, influencers, and maybe a couple devs.

just providing some insight because i was always curious about this stuff when i started out. if there's interest in these topics let me know and i'll write more content about this type of stuff.
