Many years ago, before Google Earth began blocking the KH-11 camera, I was able to capture a large number of interesting photos above and at ground level using a special technique and some extraordinary photo tools.

Among the inexplicable photos were a series of rectangular slots in the ice, which, at the time made no sense since they were obviously openings for submarines.
But, that could not be so since the ince was/is reportedly 2 KM thick.
But then, I learned the Nazis replaced their submarine engines with "anti-gravity" systems which they could then operate both in the atmosphere as well as in space.
[That, of course, sounds bizarre and impossible, but, they demonstrated this capability in the Eisenhower Adminiatration by having a fleet of their flying saucers swarm above the US Capitol, easily out-maneuvering the US fighter jets. [Dig back to newspaper reports/photos (it's all there)]

In essence, Operation Paper Clip transferrred more than Von Braun and 13 scientists; it included thousands of these technical folks who had already reverse engineered flying saucers in the 1930s.
The "Nordics" you hear so much about are actually Germans, faking it.

There's a lot more to this story, and I suppose now I'll have to write a blogpost.

It fnally ended about an hour ago down South.

Not your normal lightning bolt, followed by a clap of thunder, but rather a seriies of "lightning" flashes followed by "explosiions".

Recalling my adventure days in SEA, I was reminded of ArcLight strikes which had a similar appearance.

Now, back when I was in DC, I photographed what may have been a aerial battle in the stratosphere>
Expanding the photograph of what I thought was a Sun Devil, turned out to be someting much more interesting.

If you go back in history to 1947 [WW2 ended in Aug 1945], and examine foreign newspapers [e.g., Santiago, Chile], you'll find accounts of ADM Byrd's fleet sailing into the Antarctic wwaters with three battle groups, including an aircraft carrier. Secretary of Defense Forrestal ordered the mission [Operation High Jump] as a "defensive measure" against an undisclosed enemy.

On entering the Antarctic waters, the fleet was met with hostile aircraft in the form of flying saucers which destroyed the US fighters and several ships - all of which were helpless against this hostile force - and so the US [and alliies] forces withdrew and returned to the US.

This stunning defeat led to the silencing of Forrestal [and his subsequent murder [suicide], and the silencing of ADM Byrd.
As background, the Nazis had relocated their technology center to Antarctica where they further developed jet aircraft and flying saucers, as well as directed energy weapons based on both reverse engineering of alien crashed vehicles and the work of a scientific society. [They did enlist the aid of an alien group]

President Eisenhower kept the secret of the WWII "loss" and authorized the creation of a sophisticated technology force which could challenge the Fourth Reich. He passed the torch to JFK, who had been Forrestal's Aide and confidante, President JFK then begain the Spsce Force as a Navy element.

This story has far greater detail than I can include here, so I'll write a blogpost later.
But, this gives you the backstory on the 60th birthday of the Space Force.
