This awakening you have known comes not
Through logic and scholarship, but from
Close association with a realized teacher.
Wise are you, Nachiketa, because you
Seek the Self eternal. May we have more
Seekers like you!

The word karma is used in Vedanta in more senses than one. karma primarily means “action.” It also signifies the destiny forged by one in one’s past incarnation or present: the store of tendencies, impulses, characteristics and habits, which determine one’s future embodiment and environment. Another meaning of karma, often used in reference to one’s caste or position in life, is ritual, the course of conduct, which one ought to follow in pursuance of the tendencies acquired in the past, with a view to work them out.

Death; An Inside Story: A book for all those who shall die by Sadhguru

Death is a taboo in most societies in the world. But what if we have got this completely wrong? What if death was not the catastrophe it is made out to be but an essential aspect of life, rife with spiritual possibilities for transcendence? For the first time, someone is saying just that.

In this unique treatise-like exposition, Sadhguru dwells extensively upon his inner experience as he expounds on the more profound aspects of death that are rarely spoken about. From a practical standpoint, he elaborates on what preparations one can make for one's death, how best we can assist someone who is dying and how we can continue to support their journey even after death.

Whether a believer or not, a devotee or an agnostic, an accomplished seeker or a simpleton, this is truly a book for all those who shall die!

You are the Bliss of Non-Being And when you are ready to give up your separateness, to abandon the vain and continuous searching for happiness, to free yourself from the limitation of personhood that appear to bind you, then you can again experience the bliss of non-being.

The entire play of solving the “hard problem” of consciousness takes place in Consciousness Itself. There is no problem except the problem posed by the illusion that Consciousness exists within bodies. Rather it is bodies that exist in Consciousness. Change pertains to bodies and not to Consciousness that is akShara, immutable.

See that you create the space in which the world moves, the time in which it lasts. Come to realize that the world is only sand. You may play with it, you may walk on it, but don't build your house there.

I Am That by Osho

Talks on the Isha Upanishad
Osho goes into the depths of these eternal questions while speaking on the sutras of the Isha Upanishad – the most ancient words of wisdom available to mankind.
For over 35 years, Osho spoke to international audiences of seekers, addressing their essential questions and concerns. The international press calls him “A 21st Century Prophet” and “an oracle of modern times.” His books and audio lectures are international bestsellers.
Osho himself says that he is neither a prophet nor a philosopher; he is simply sharing his own experience. The Sunday Times of London described him as “one of the 1000 makers of the 20th century” and American author Tom Robbins has called him “the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ” – both comments reflecting the profound influence of his revolutionary approach to the science of inner transformation.

A tradition has to be understood, and if you can understand many traditions, of course it will enrich you. It will not make you enlightened, but it will help you towards the goal, it will push you towards the goal. Don't be a follower of any tradition — don't be a Christian or a Hindu or a Mohammedan. But it will be unfortunate if you remain unaware of the beautiful words of Jesus, it will be a sheer misfortune if you don't know the great poetry of the Upanishads.

It will be as if a person has not heard any great music — Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Wagner. If one has not heard, something will be missing in him. It will be a misfortune if you have not read Shakespeare, Milton, Dostoevsky, Kalidas, Bharbhuti, Rabindranath, Kahlil Gibran. If you have not been acquainted with Tolstoy, Chekhov, Maxim Gorky, something in you will remain missing.
