LDAP, short for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol,
is a protocol used to store and manage information—

So, why is it dangerous?

That’s what today’s article is about.
There are two major vulnerabilities we’re looking at—
both work in the same way, and both are very dangerous.

They are Use-After-Free vulnerabilities.

(Yeah, remember when I told you about that one before?)

Basically, the flaw works by sending specially crafted requests to the LDAP protocol in Windows—
these requests carry special payloads, which cause memory corruption and allow attackers to execute code remotely (RCE).
