I'd like to share an interesting story with you, a risk I took when I decided to take the IELTS test back in August 2023 without preparing sufficiently. Although I was an IELTS teacher and had a good understanding of the test format and requirements, I still felt that I hadn't dedicated enough time to studying. Due to a busy schedule and other commitments, I could only dedicate two weeks to preparation.

And I decided to take the test anyway because I wanted to update my credentials and see how I would perform under test conditions. Even though I was familiar with the test as a teacher, the thought of being on the other side as a test-taker added a bit of pressure.

On the day of the test, I felt fairly confident, though I knew I hadn't prepared as much as I could have. Despite my limited preparation, I trusted my background knowledge and experience. When it was finally over, I felt a mix of relief and anticipation, eager to see how I had done.

When the results were announced, I was pleased to see that I had scored an overall 8. While this result met my expectations, it was reassuring to see it confirmed. My speaking score was a 7, which was a bit lower than I had expected and hoped for given my background as an IELTS teacher, but still a solid result.

I felt a sense of accomplishment and validation. The experience taught me that sometimes, even when you take a risk, your foundational skills and knowledge can carry you through. It reinforced my belief in my capabilities and highlighted the importance of consistent effort and confidence. This experience also served as a reminder that there's always room for improvement, and preparation is key, even for those with experience.

I'd like to describe a person who encouraged and helped me to achieve a significant goal: my high school English teacher, Mrs. Munojat. She was not only an excellent teacher but also a mentor who played a crucial role in my academic journey.

She inspired me to pursue a passion for writing. She always believed in my potential and encouraged me to enter a national essay competition. I'd like to describe something that was given to me that I really needed: a new smartphone. My older brother gave it to me last year, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

As a student and part-time worker, I relied heavily on my phone for staying in touch with family, coordinating with classmates, and managing work-related tasks. The poor condition of my old phone was causing a lot of frustration and inconvenience.

My brother noticed how much I was struggling with my old phone and decided to surprise me with a new one. He gave it to me as a birthday gift, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude. So i spend a great deal of my time every day especially when I go back home after work. I spend my hour here every day.

It's my little retreat, where I can unwind and recharge, one page at a time. So yeah, this place just, you know, offers enough of comfort for me, so I like spending my time there.
